“great hotel”
not sure why others rated it low but I found this place clean and the staff very helpful. the location is not perfect but not too bad as it is only 15 minutes away from old quebec by walking. I took a bike tour that is close to this hotel at cyclo quebec and had a lot of fun doing that. for the combination of price and room you can't beat this place.
“Love it”
So suprised at the 3-5 rating this currently has. I loved this hotel from the hi tech looking rooms with floor to celing windows and a chaise lounger overlooking the hills to Old Quebec. The room was spacious, the bathroom counter space was awesome, they did a turn down service that included turning on the TV, turning back the bed and leaving yummy little chocolates. The food in the restaurant was awesome. The only issue was there is no coffee maker in the room, which was annoying. I have read people complaining about the location, I didn't have any issues with it as I love to walk, so it is 15 minutes to the elevator that takes you up to Old Quebec area. If you have mobility challenges, this is not the hotel for you..because you will have to walk but its a pleasant walk to the walled city. Super affordable, friendly staff, great location, super views...loved it and would stay there again in a heartbeat.
“Great place”
I loved the whole future idea room was nice valet service very fast and polite
“Nice hotel to stay at”
I stayed at this hotel on Sep 3, 2011. The hotel and rooms are nicely designed. Staffs are helpful. Washroom is clean and spacious. Love the self served coffee/espresso machine at the lobby. Free Wi-Fi and printer provided. The swimming pool is bigger than expected and for sure you can do a good swim. Though it's a 20 minutes walk to rue St Jean and the Wall, but it allows you to see the local neighbourhood and restaurants, shops. There are a few good restaurants llike Cafe du Clocher Penchees, Les Bossus and a few bakery shops near the hotel (3 mins walk). Some open as early as 7am for breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends.
“Too bad there is only one PUR. Enjoyed staying there!”
Stayed at PUR last week at the 15th Floor. The view was great. Slept with the window curtain opened all night to enjoy the view. The room was clean. Service was great. The king size bed was comfortable. It will take about 25min to walk to old Quebec but could be tiring, Taxi stand is right in front of hotel and cost about CAD10 from the hotel to old Quebec. The hotel also has a great swimming pool. If you like to try something different then this modern and chic hotel is for you!
“Would love to stay again”
The Hotel itself has a very modern feel. Our room was comfortable for two and had a great view. There are a variety of good restaurants nearby, but it is also not far from the old part of the city. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to those of us whose do not speak any French. The hotel restaurant was also very nice. The walk to the upper part of old town is a bit of a hike, but there is an elevator at the top of Couronne that gets you most of the way to the top of the hill.
“nice hotel”
This was a nice place. The rooms were clean and the views were stunning. The hotel pool is quite nice and deserves a visit.
“A nice room with a view.....”
We were please with the hotel. In a room overlooking an inspiring church, we took a break from the "to do" list and just hung out... The hotel itself lacks liveliness but the rooms are very comfortable. A few items were missing: ice bucket, ice on each floor, and bathrobes, and we had to ask for it, but overall the peace and the comfort of the room made it worth the stay. Also, members of the staff were "real people" and not the snobby type at all.
“Too far from Old/New City; Staff unattentive; Decor dated; Small room”
Would not recommend unless you were trying to save money and liked walking 20 minutes to the beautiful parts of the city
“Good value in an up and coming neighborhood”
I found Hotel Pur to be good value and convenient to the old city. ($7 or $8 cab ride) It's very modern, clean and the staff are helpful. I speak ok French but the staff speaks English very well. My husband found the decor to be somewhat stark but I liked it. The rooms are of average size. Beds were very comfortable and the linens were white and new. The hotel wasn't too busy when we stayed so it's hard to say for sure, but it was very quiet. Get a room with a view of the church if you can. There are several restaurants within walking distance, including a decent breakfast place.
