“Ideal for an enthusiastic visitor! Great, great location.”
This hotel is clean and well maintained. The location could not be better; a few blocks from Old Town Walls and very close to fantastic eating. Best salad of my life at SAVINI's on Grande Alle or .....oatmeal for breakfast at MacDonald's L'Astral is a must - either for breakfast or for dinner; the view is spectacular. The staff at Loew's are very very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
“Nice place to stay, convenient, but expensive”
Our stay was early Sept 2011. This is a very nice hotel, the staff were friendly and spoke English and we had no problems. The restaurant was very expensive and I thought overpriced, there were better nearby. The location is on the edge of the old city and is fairly convenient to the tourist activities. It is surrounded by many restaurants, which we also thought were overpriced and didnt deliver the cuisine experience we had expected, but there are many others nearby. Would stay again.
“Quebec in Summer”
Hotel is very well located, close to all attractions. It is getting a bit dated with my biggest complaint being that there was no free wireless internet which should be an automatic these days.
“Would stay at this hotel the next time we visit Quebec City, CA. Great location.”
Our stay at the Lowes, was outstanding in every aspect. Location, ammenities and great service. We were located about 3 blocks outside of the entrance to Old Quebec City, which ended up being a pleasant walk into a historic area filled with some of the most wonderful quaint restaurants. We had an airconditioner that frooze up, but once there mechanic checked it out the front desk called and offered to move us and offered us a free drink in the bar area of the hotel. Make this your hotel of choice! BG from Upper Marlboro, MD
“Courteous, Friendly and Great Location”
We had a great time at the hotel. The staff were very helpful. Great location; all places of interest within walking distance. Car park is small and you may experience some challenger getting your car in and out. Internet access cost $$s. Would be nice if it was free in the hotel rooms.
“Wonderful Quebec Hotel”
Very comfortable hotel, with many restaurant options down the street and a beautiful park next to it. Great view from our 25th floor room. A good selection of coffee and teas were available in the room, and they were restocked each afternoon. The only dissatisfying element, and ultimately it was comical, is that only 2 elevators were functioning out of a bank of four. The wait for one to arrive could be many minutes, and as a result, people would pack on to an elevator regardless if it was going the direction they needed or not with the expectation that eventually it would stop at their desired floor. The hotel was upgrading their elevators and this was the reason for the lack of availability. Other than that, the hotel met our needs quite well.
“Very Nice Hotel”
This is a nice hotel with large, clean, comfortable rooms and a friendly, helpful staff. Well located within walking distance of everything a tourist wants to see. Unfortunately, the elevators were under renovation and we had extremely long waits to get down to the lobby or up to our room. Hopefully, this will be fixed soon.
“A Memorable Experience”
This was my husband's first visit to Quebec City and a surprise! He didn't know what was happening when I woke him up at 4:00a.m. to go to the airport. Thank you to Caesar at the hotel for his help to make his birthday one he will never forget! The hotel was beautiful and clean but it is the people who make the experience. I called and spoke with Caesar at the hotel ahead of time. He took care of everything and what a positive, pleasant person he is. He booked us into a beautiful room with a view of the St. Lawrence, the Chateau Frontenac and the beautiful lights of old Quebec. We received an unexpected room service delivery of wine, cheese, on crackers and blackberries accompanied by a compliments card. Caesar booked a reservation in the impressive rotating restaurant our first evening for 7:30 p.m. We enjoyed the sunset and the night lights while having an unforgettable dinner. We just happened to be there for 2 nights only and on our second night there was the celebration of the opening of the cafe's and a street party. It was amazing! We took a horse and buggy ride throughout the city and wandered the streets and shops of old Quebec. We had a wonderful meal at a crepe cafe. One of my favorites! I was disappointed to learn that there was a charge for internet use and the other small things that tend to add up. All in all it was a wonderful experience and thank you to Caesar who made it all possible!
“very happy”
2nd time & very satisfied
“20th wedding anniversary getaway - great experience!!”
Arrived at hotel, asked for a nice view on the phone a week earlier. Room was on 26th floor (top floor)! Beautiful view. Chilled champagne & chocolate dipped strawberries there to greet us - very nice! Walk into town - Old Quebec - very convenient - ate in town the first night (Cafe du Paris) - very nice but pricey - romantic with candlelit dinner by a lit fireplace - funny, personable staff. Walked the streets, went to museum via 'Second Cup' cafe in the morning. Ate at L'astral the next night - rotating restaurant on floor above our room. Ignore the negative reviews - this was great - people, food, and the VIEW were all awesome! Not rushed, very professional/funny staff - try the local beer. Pricey walking out the door, but ....it's very unique and worth every dime. Front Desk - If you meet Cesar at the front desk, take a minute and talk to him - very knowledgable and great conversationalist - we're American and he was a nice linqual catalyst for us. Also, they will exchange US dollars at the front desk, so avoid bank charges in the US.
