“Very nice for the Price.”
My wife and I had a great stay here at the Grand-Allee. We stayed for 2 nights, the room was comfortable, clean, had everything you needed. Bathroom had no counter space and was a little tight, but it didn't effect or bother us much. The bed was very comfortable. The room we had overlooked the main street which has 2 nightclubs basically next door, but the noise didn't seem to bother us either and we slept great. I The hotel is within walking distance of Old Quebec about 10 min. And it is also very close to the river and many restaurants. The service was kind and helpful and everyone spoke english which was helpful when you can't explain yourself well in French. Parking on site is nice and not expensive. It has a great decor and feel to the hotel, old but not run down, and new but not cheesy or trendy. Overall, really liked our stay alot.
“Great location!”
I was on the main floor which was convenient, but the room was not as attractive as others. However, the service was excellent; the breakfast was ample and the servers were very pleasant. The hotel service as a whole was extremely good although the maid service was not that professional. The location was very close to the old city walls and the street was lined with great restaurants and cafes!
“Great little hotel (but...)”
Fantastic place, great location, great room, friendly staff, convenient...just one drawback and it's not to do with the hotel itself - that is, the noise from the nightclub/bar downstairs until early hours of the morning on the night we stayed (the boom boom of the bass)...Perhaps I'm too sensitive to sound so for most, this wouldn't be an issue. Setting that aside, I thoroughly recommend this hotel.
“Very Comfortable”
I stayed for only one night but I was pleased overall. My train arrived in Quebec City at 6am and I was able to leave my baggage at the hotel as I waited for the 3pm Check-in time. Unfortunatly the night auditor spoke poor english and I spoke no French but he did take my bags and that gave me the freedom to walk around and get breakfast. Returning to the hotel at 12pm I was able to check-in early which was amazing for I needed to get some sleep. I was a little scared to see that my room was beside the main enterence but it was double doored and i was able to fall asleep; the room was quiet and had a nice view of the street. The room also had nice high ceilings and a faux fire-place. unfortunately the lighting fixture over the sink was not working and if i had more time I would had addressed this with the main desk. Checking out was easy and because my departing train was sheduled to leave at 8pm once again the hotel was glad to hold onto my luggage which allowed me the freedom to wander the streets of old town once again. I am pleased with the services i received.
“it's great”
Great location (It's walking distance from pretty much everything), very affordable and the employees are very nice. I'd definitly go back!
“Very unimpressed”
Bossy un-helpful receptionist. Wi-Fi not working entire duration of visit. Receptionist claimed that she would personally resolve the problem!!! Toe-nail clippings on floor in room.
“Location, Location, Location”
Nice stay. Loud in the evening but we knew it would be. The location was excellent and we could walk anywhere we wanted. Valet parking only but that was fine.
“A place close to the enterteinment industry”
The hotel had renewed the rooms. It has a nice decoration, however it does not have an elevator. It is an old and small house. It is located in a beautiful area, where everything happens. Restaurants, weddings, parties. People in the hotel are friendly and very helpfull.
“Not Impressed”
I do not recommend because the noise of the water pipes (at least in the first floor) was extremenly high. Actually we were awaiken very early in the morning because someone took a shower.
“Noisy in front rooms, but quaint and charming”
A friend and I stayed two night, one in a single king-sized room, and one in a two queen room. The king room was in the back of the hotel so it was very quiet--we didn't hear a single other person inside or outside. The room was immaculate and the bathroom was very modern and pretty. The second night, in the room with two beds, we were on the second floor in the front of the hotel. It was very noisy with the windows open, but we weren't trying to sleep so it was fine. Once we closed the windows, it was slightly noisy, but it didn't bother us too much. Breakfast is standard Continental fare, but to get to it you had to go down some stairs, up some stairs, and down a bunch of twisty hallways to get there. Parking is also really cheap, at 20 Canadian dollars per night.
