We enjoyed our short stay. Our grand-daughters enjoyed the pool. Hotel easy to get to, very good location. Desk staff were very helpful. Would definitively return.

Staff is very friendly and bi-lingual. The accomodations very comfortable and the indoor courtyard has a wee spa and pool. The only slight disappointment is that the dining room is not licensed, although you may bring your own wine. I wished I had known. I would definitely use this hotel on my next visit to Quebec.

“Great hotel, great price”

The place looks like a motel from outside. Inside it still looked a little plain, but very clean and the staff was super-friendly. The room was BIG! And very comfortable. The best part was the pool and spa area.. I did the scandinavian bath and it was soooo relaxing and invigorating - wish I could have done it more! And only about a 10 minute drive to old Quebec. Free parking was nice. I would definitely come back here! Great for families :o)

My girlfriend and I stayed there for five days at a very reasonable rate. The hotel is about 5 miles away from the heart of old Quebec. We enjoy walking so it wasn't a huge deal for us. Chemin ste. foy leads you directly into old quebec If you want to be right in the middle of Old quebec then don't choose the Hotel Universel...but you will pay alot more to be closer to the hot spots. The hotel is currently (Sept.25,2008) under renovation and it will most likely be a lot more expensive when they do finish all their enhancements. The staff were very kind and were patient with us despite our limited french. If you are a high maintenance traveler then its not the place for you. If you are easy going definitely give it try.

This hotel is very clean and very beautiful. The pool area is like a free spa and is aesthetically pleasing! The staff is very accomodating, we had a great stay.

Was pleasantly surprised. Very nice rooms and friendly staff. Was surprised to see that they have a sauna and a small swimming pool. Kids had a blast at the pool. Will stay there again.
