Lots of amenities, comfortablePosted 19-Sep-2014
I liked the situation, the swimming pool, the kitchen in the room. I had a nice stay that I would recommend for a stay in Quebec

Will not returnPosted 26-Aug-2014
Pros: It was close to Quebec City.
Cons: Clean and update the rooms. Clean the carpets on the stairs and hallways...they were disgusting.
The hotel room seemed dirty and was in desperate need of updating. The hotel staff were aloof. The pool was nice, but very small and not great for children. I would not book this hotel again.

Desaster HotelPosted 20-Aug-2014
Cons: Remodeling the all hotel
Location: I don't know we didn't stay at the Hotel Universal.
We never stay at the dirty Hotel a Universal. absolutely nothing good about that place . dirty room carpets stains on the hallway...Smell in the room....I just want to forget about that bad experience with Expedia ...I just can't believed that you have this hotel on you website. I

Nice hotel, but road work right in frontPosted 8-Aug-2014
Pros: clean, atmosphere of the pool was neat
Cons: not have access to other people's room off the pool
Location: nice that it was close to Old Quebec City
nice looking hotel, inside and out, but there was road work going on right in front and a little hard to get in. Pool/Room area was a little weird. You could walk right into someone's room off the pool, no privacy. Pool was Very small and taken over by little children. No coffee in your room, had to pay $1.50 if you want one.

Smelly old hotel with faceliftPosted 29-Jul-2014
The room looked nicely updated but smelled old and damp when we walked in. The air conditioner was very noisy even at the low setting but this did help to drown out the noisy club right beside our room. Bed was pretty comfortable. Person at the front desk preferred to answer the phone over speaking to people at the desk - made me wait while she answered the phone.

Pleasantly surprised.Posted 27-Jul-2014
From the rear entrance, the hotel didn't appear to be too impressive. BUT, we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff. The pool area was very nice. There is a Boston Pizza attached to the hotel and a Tim Horton's just steps away. The hotel is across the street from the University football stadium and 10 minutes from Old Quebec.

Amazing pool.Posted 27-Jul-2014
Pros: The pool!!
Cons: It couldn't hurt to be just a tad more generous with the coffee, creamer and sugar in the hotel room, as well as the soaps for a hotel room for 5 ppl.
Location: Greatly located. We came to visit the mall and the aquarium.
Travelling with 3 kids we really had a great experience. The room smelled a bit funny on arrival, almost as if people had been smoking in it, but whatever that was; the room was clean and neat. The pool is absolutely amazing, not big, but very nice. Staff was very friendly too. Greatly located as well. We loved Boston Pizza as the breakfast option.

Never take the "economy" rooms.Posted 22-Jul-2014
Pros: The pool is a lot of fun, and it's why we always have chosen this hotel in the past. It's like a fake tropical holiday that the kids love.
Cons: Raze these rooms to the ground and start over. There's no excuse for this kind of slovenly room in a good hotel like this.
We've stayed at this hotel before and loved it, but this time we bottomed out (literally) in a discount room on the basement floor. It was worse than an old-fashioned $40/night road motel of the kind you don't often see anymore. We paid $119 for a night in July, which admittedly is high season, but there was major road reconstruction going on outside. The room looked gungy and pathetic--dirty carpets, sagging old mattresses, a beat up air conditioner, a kitchenette that looked like it belongs in a boarder's house, and a bathtub that didn't drain properly. Awful all the way. On our previous visits I would never have guessed that rooms of this quality even existed on its premises. We booked through Expedia and chose the "economy with double beds" room. Apparently for $20 more we could have had a normal room upstairs...

Not impressedPosted 10-Jul-2014
Stayed 2 nights - pre-booked thru Expedia. The windows faced a brick wall and the bed were like rocks. The pool and Jacuzzi area was over run with kids.
