“Can't really complain!”

This is a really great hotel. But therefore expectations were really high. Don't get me wrong, the Fairmont is by far one of the nicest hotels, I have ever stayed in. Location in Quebec is unbeatable and the building itself - breathtaking. The only reason I did not give a 5 for the "condition" was the room with the ice dispencer. I was not impressed. The "comfort" only got a 4 because of the room size. It was the smallest hotel room I have ever seen. As you can see, I am very picky here! Have fun there, Quebec and the Fairmont is definitely worth a trip.

“Location, history and distinction”

Spent two nights with my girlfriend at this legendary Quebec City hotel. We had a standard room with view on the river. A bit small but very nice and of course very clean. Hotel staff, without exception was always very nice and helpful. The hotel is perfectly located to visit the old city by foot. If you don't mind paying a bit more or are able to get a good deal on a room, don't hesitate to go because this hotel certainly has that feeling of distinction, luxury, and history.

“Best Location”

The location and appearance of the hotel is superb. Although my room is relatively small but for what I paid for the room, it was worth it. I would love to go back in the future.

“One of the BEST we visited yet!”

It's been said that first impression counts....well in the case of Le Chateau Frontenac was more than what we dreamed of from the check-in point on! We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary there and we were pleasantly surprised when our room was upgraded to a special part of this hotel -"Gold" as they called it. It was more than "gold", it was really a "diamond" stay! We had our special night dinner to " Le Champlain" their unique restaurant with a special view of the river -oh, what a night! The next morning we used their spa -patronized by the Payot Institute Paris- and had a wonderful experience there as well - try it out if you have the time. Another part we enjoyed a lot was their exclusive Lounge for the "gold" members where we had breakfast every morning and drinks and snacks during the day and before dinner -what a great selection! Starting with the front desk personnel, to the ladies that looked after our room, to the restaurant and lounge staff, to the host that took us on a back-in-time-trip for a hotel tour, we were so impressed by their professionalism and friendliness, always ready to help and support with any questions we might have. We highly recommend this hotel for any kind of occasion or just for a night get-away. Excellent service A++.

“The only place to stay in Quebec City”

I am so happy we booked this hotel. It made our trip to Quebec City that much more memorable. If you are going to Quebec City this is the place to stay. The hotel was the highlight of our 24 hour stay in Quebec City. We were able to check in early at no additional cost, saw the sights of the city and spent most of the evening at the hotel overlooking the St. Lawrence. Located at the top of Quebec City, with a convenient Starbucks connected to the lobby, the hotel was the ideal place for a 24 hour stay in QC. The room service we ordered was fantastic, the room was small (this was expected for this historic hotel) but clean and comfortable. Would stay again and again...

“Luxury and comfort!”

You can believe what the reviews say...this is a first class hotel. Expensive, but worth every penny!!!! Great location in Old Quebec and within walking distance to everything. Very freindy area, 99% of the French speaking people switch to English easily. Makes communication very easy!! We brought our kids this time but would love to go back for a more romantic stay!

“Can't wait. to go back”

The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was very clean. For the age of the building, it was well maintained, particularly the bathroom. Just loved the place and would recommend it to anyone. Will definitely go back!

“Those who write bad reviews need to adjust their thinking”

We stayed at the Chateau for a three day weekend. I was a little suprised to read bad reviews. The rooms may be a bit small, but how old is the place? It is clean, well ran, and has excellent restaurants. I would not stay again, only because i've been there and would try another place. It's location in the Old City is ideal. If you are looking for "modern" with huge rooms and eclectic styling go somewhere else. Don't expect that here. It is everything it says it is, a 5 star Victorian hotel with impeccable service and amenities.

“Undoubtedly Quebec's Best Hotel and of legendary reputation - well-deserved reputation”

For anybody who wants to live a real atmospheric Quebec experience, the Chateau Frontenac is to be highly recommended - it is a treasure of history (take the time to have a look at all the historic portraits of New France's leading figure - that in itself will have earned you a short introduction to the history of art in Quebec and New France). The comfort of the beds is indescribable - we went to stay at the Chateau Frontenac the last weekend in October 2010 - and went straight back the next weekend in November, just the comfort of the rooms is an attraction. A special treat is a drink in the Salon St.-Laurent with a view of the St.-Lawrence and the south shore (Levis). Unfortunately, it does not come at reasonable prices - unfortunately, the hotel seems to have taken the view it must charge unreasonable prices for sipping a drink with a gorgeous view across the river to maintain 'class' - you can be high-end without being outrageous and unreasonable. Nevertheless, even though this is an irritant, I would still return to the Chateau Frontenac (for the history). Another irritant is the breakfast: if the hotel is fully booked, ensure you reserve your place when checking in - arriving on a Sunday morning at 9 a.m. to reserve a place for 10 a.m. is pretty much a lost mission, if the place is sold-out otherwise on the rooms
