“Outstanding!”

We are usually the easiest guests to please. However, this time my husband had a back problem and couldn't walk the long distance from our room to the lobby and restaurant (we figured this out after we were already established in a lovely suite). We called and they collected us and our luggage and moved us to a room more suitable for us. The bed was comfortable, the linens ironed--everything so clean. The service could not have been better.

“Good services, decent internet connection, old TV, expensive restaurant”

Overal we are happy with this hotel. A few good points and nagative points. Services are five star. Convenient parking. Decent internet connections. However, a few things can be improved. TV is very small and old, considering it is four and half star hotel, it is a bit *interesting*. You can hear your neighbor talking, walking, showing, so if you are a light sleeper, ask for top floor and corner unit. Restaurants are expensive but if you drive five minutes, there are a few reasonable priced restauarnts.

“Get a rental car”

The hotel itself is nice enough, but it's not within walking distance of many noteworthy locations. We did not have a rental car this trip and had to cab most places. The hotel does advertise a shuttle service to and from Old Quebec, leaving twice daily (once in the morning and once in the evening) but you have to make reservations at least half an hour before the scheduled departure/pickup time or the shuttle is likely to be unavailable.

Must see

We had a good time at the Quebec Aquarium, which was only about a 10 minute cab ride from the chateau.

“Great hotel in Quebec!”

Everything very good, kind concierge, delicious food, good facilities. My family were fully satisfied. I would like to visit again soon!!

Area recommendations

Old Quebec city. Atmosphere is similar to Europe, fine landscape, delicious foods. Take many pictures and eat delicious foods.

“A definite revisit”

Truly appreciated the place, we stayed in the new TERZO section, original design, superb comforter, SPECIAL separate shower/Steam section, open concept washbasin area. Garden surroundings make you feel like you are in the Caribbean even though it is situated in a residential area. Superb food and service, the only downside was the Sunday Breakfast, no Brunch and at $62 for two what we got was disappointing, otherwise we are going back and we will Brunch elsewhere.

“I would return again”

Chateau Bonne Entente was a very nice spa hotel. Geared more for couples and business meetings. Very clean. Rooms were spacious - we stayed in one with a single queen bed, sofa, chair, and desk. The only odd thing was they glass wall that separated the bedroom from the bath. It was patterned glass but you could still see the outline of the person in the bathroom. The concierge and women at check-in were extremely helpful to us as we made our daily plans. It is at least a 15 minute drive to Old Quebec.

Area recommendations

I would recommend staying within Old Quebec if you prefer not to drive. Most of the hotels in Old Quebec do not have a pool, if this is important to you. It was nice that the city stayed lively until late in the evening. We were in the city around 11:00pm and people were still out walking about and eating at restaurants. We did like to go to St. Anne's Falls and to see Cirque de Soleil which is just outside of the walled city so it was nice to have a car. Beware - the police do watch the meters closely. We got back to our car one day to find we had two minutes left on the meter. A police officer was parked behind our car waiting for the meter to run out. As soon as we got in our car he drove off.

Events and shows

The city has contracted with Cirque de Soleil to provide free entertainment during the summer months. We really enjoyed this show but it would be hard to see everything if you are short. When we were there everyone remained standing so my twelve year old had some trouble seeing. I recommend standing on the hill or getting the paid seats if you have young ones. We also went to the The Image Mill and were disappointed. The idea was neat but the show, which was a Quebec history lesson was quite boring. We felt that they should have been more imaginative with the technology.

“Highly Recommend”

The Chateau Bonne Entente is extremely easy to find and only about 10 minutes from the airport. It is in a quiet, residentail area and yet close to numerous restuarants and shopping. Also, an easy 4 block walk takes you to an area that has a full grocery store, liquor store and an upscale fruit and vegetable market. It is about a 10 minute drive to Old Quebec and, if you do not have a car, they offer free daily shuttle service to the old city. Our room, a standard queen, was tastefully decorated, had plenty of room to move and sit and one of the most fantastic showers that I have ever experienced! The parking is free as well as the in-room high speed internet service. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to be certain that we had everything to make our stay comfortable. We would not hesitate to return and highly recommend.
