“It will do”

This hotel is currently under renovation. It will look great in the near future. The good things: the city shuttle bus (small fare, ride all day) stops in front of the hotel. Free hotel shuttle only runs at 8:15 a.m., returns at 6 pm. during the summer. There is a tourist info center across the street. The staff is helpful and friendly. Rooms clean and modern. Bad things: the hotel is in the middle of nowhere. There are a couple of small restaurants nearby, but other options than the hotel restaurant for breakfast. Service in the restaurant can be very slow and is expensive. No elevator, if you are on the second floor you have to carry your own bags up the stairs. Overall, stayed here to avoid high prices in old city. Bus system is good way of getting around. Also a quick trip to/from airport. Don't bother with the aquarium which is down the street - not much to see.

Area recommendations

Wander outside the old city walls. There are some nice restaurants out there, less touristy.

“Can't wait to go back!”

A very nice affordable place to make any stay unforgettable! Located 15 minute scenic drive to Old Quebec, conveniently located near all major highways and near major shopping malls (Place Laurier, Place Ste-Foy et Place de la Cité. The Restaurant La Fenouillière offers great dining 4 star experience with excellent food and wine.

Located 15 minute scenic drive to Old Quebec, conveniently located near all major highways and near major shopping malls (Place Laurier, Place Ste-Foy et Place de la Cité, talk a nice walk on streets like St. Joseph and St. Jean or Plains of Abraham. Visit Le Petit Champlain and the Fort "La Citadelle" in Old Quebec. There is so much history. Parc Montmorency is a short drive from Old Quebec with a nice scenic view and falls.

“Lousy service”

1) because we reserved thru Expedia at a substantial discount, they gave us the worst possible room vith the view on the roof of the reception hall. 2) wifi did not work with my ipad or iphone even after the manage "tweeked" their system. 3) the management had not told Expedia that this hotel was in full renovation. So at 7:00 am construction workers started hammering, banging and using heavy equipment very loudly. 4) this hotel provides you with one small soap for the sink and shower. How cheap can they be? 5) the waiters of the restaurant at this hotel refused to let us two sit in one of the six empty table for four, and they were rude about it. It's supposed to be one the five best kitchens in Quebec City. I wonder how the other four treat their clients. Overall, it was the worst Best Western we've ever stayed at.

“Perfect for what we were looking for”

Close to Laval University, which was the reason we had gone, very comfortable and clean room.

We visited the ice hotel which was amazing to see and also spent a day in Old Quebec City, very quaint. The main reason for our visit was to watch the CIS women's volleyball nationals, so it was a good location and price for our needs.

“Perfect location.”

The service was perfect. The location is just ten minutes from most places of interest. The zoo is a couple of minutes away. The halls on one side of the hotel did have a bad smell, but we quickly got used to it.

“Beds were too soft”

Very nice hotel, perfect location for us (right off the Pont-Pierre-Laporte in Quebec, and a stone's throw away from my mom's house, whom we were visiting), and the restaurant is very good, albeit a bit pricey. Unfortunately, the beds were much, much too soft. Now our backs hurt. Unfortunately, we have to look for another place for our next visit. Too bad. Ouch.

The Old Quebec is awesome - in all seasons - and people are super nice. In the winter, do the toboggan ride on the Terrasse Dufferin, and then reward yourself with some maple taffy right at the bottom.

“Good Hotel”

The hotel was very nice. There was also a large family gathering that woke us up at 5am because they were waiting for the elevator and talking very loudly, so ask for a room far from the elevator if you don’t want to get woken up. Otherwise the rooms were clean and the hotel was an ideal location.
