“Great Stay”

This hotel was fantastic, not because of the room only but because of the service I received from the staff. Alex was a fantastic help and really went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel is a little off the beaten path but it's literally 5 minutes from Old Quebec City downtown, and the parking isn't that pricey in this area if you know what you're doing. For the amount of money I paid for my 2 night stay, you couldn't beat the quality.

Area recommendations
Old Quebec City, hands down some of the best clubs in the area. The scenery is fantastic out this way. Check out all of the little shops and tourist areas. The only kicker is that the food is fairly expensive in old quebec. Bring some extra cash!!
Getting there
GPS wasn't very helpful in getting me there, unless you have access to turn-by-turn navigation in your vehicle, using a map isn't the easiest way to find your way. To get to the hotel, you just need to follow the highway east if you're coming from route 20 up from Montreal. Take the 440 until you see the exit.

“Bed Bugs?”

Great location. Stayed there last year as well. However, this year there was powder under the bed....oh, oh...I hope it's not bed bugs or other critters! Also, when we stayed in the motelpart this time it felt like a freight train was coming through when people were walking outside with their roller luggage.

“would highly recommend”

We had a wonderful 2 night stay here. The room was clean and comfy. We loved that its right on the bicycle path. We rode right up to Montmorency Falls in about 20 minutes. I can't say enough about the wonderful front desk staff. I accidentally left $60 in the ATM machine in the front, when I realized my mistake I went back down and the man at the desk had it waiting for me! Everyone was super helpful in answering all our questions.

“OK but could be better”

I feel that the price wa sa bit high for a motel-like room with a weak and noisy in-wall a/c unit, outside of Quebec. Thirty bucks less, would have been fine. I liked a little fridge in the room. The front-desk people are very nice, no question about it. The room was clean, the beds were OK, the shower was fine, the toilet was prone to clogging. The Greek restaurant down the street is fun and a bargain. One caveat: many GPS units won't find this hotel because it has changed its official address without changing the actual physical location. BTW: good location: Montmorency Falls are five minutes away, the city is about ten minutes away.

“Okay”

The hotel was fairly reasonable, and fairly close to the old town, but only if you're driving. We ended up paying quite a bit for parking, and it was difficult to find free spaces sometimes. Spent a lot of time driving around looking for parking. Next time, I would look for a hotel in downtown and pay more. You end up paying it in parking, anyway. The room wasn't bad, but we had to keep the curtains closed all the time, since we were in the motel part and people were always walking by and looking in. The girl who cleaned our room looked like a teenager, which is probably why she wasn't particularly interested in getting rid of the mold on the sink, or cleaning the drawers of the dresser. The rest of it was pretty clean, but we did have to keep asking for coffee for the coffeemaker everyday. The breakfast was nice, but it's expensive ($8 for a continental breakfast).

Area recommendations
The old town was beautiful. Aux Anciens Canadians was a great restaurant. It's in the oldest building in Quebec and is expensive -- unless you go before 5:45, when you can get a starter, entree, desser, and coffee for $20.

“Wo7uld go back”

The location was excellent for my 2 room reservation. We enjoyed the Bykes and Walking trail by the water where it was beautiful and relatively quiet. Very easy access to Quebec city and St Anne de Beaupre and Ile d'Orlean. Good breakfast. A draw back is that there was no ventilation in the bathrooms. The GPS does not get you to the right area...but close by. It may be confusing, the city changed the street numbers we were told and the GPS maps were not yuet corrected.

Area recommendations
Ile D'Orlean Quebec City Ste Anne de Beaupre Chute Montmorency. There are many restaurants in the area. All canadians should visit Quebec and environments. It makes you proud of being a Canadian.

“Helpful staff, convenient location, comfy & clean”

For visiting both Old Quebec and the Montmorency Falls, this is great if you want a simple, comfortable (w/writing tables), clean room right off the highway (in a suburban location, so plenty of free parking). Very friendly, helpful staff; everyone I dealt with was bilingual. Adjacent to an excellent bike path. They also have a little 24-hr cafe serving a decent small breakfast (modest price). We would definitely stay here again.

Area recommendations
Old Quebec -- I am not really a history buff but found the place fascinating. And every grown-up little boy will love "playing fort" in this real-life walled city. One worthwhile "hidden gem", on a short street with a long name (so it is not marked on some maps), is the Morrin Center, a former jail which is now a library. Our guide gave us a thoroughly informative and entertaining tour of both the jail and library sections. The "Hotel Parliament" is the provincial capitol (not a hotel). Very impressive to sit in the legislative chamber. The tour is free, but check on the tour time (English or French); you need to get there 15 min. ahead for security clearance.
Getting around
Plan on doing a lot of walking, and bring your camera.

“Nice and clean.”

Excelent deal. I'ts not impressive or luxury at all, it's a modest hotel conveniently located if you have a car. Free parking, close to the City, Montmorency Fall and the hihgway. The picture in the website shows only the main building which is very pretty and typical Québécoise (means French) architectural, but practically hidden behind a regular-motel-type 3 story building. Very clean and comfortable, there is not elevator so if you can't make stairs remember to ask for a ground floor room. The first impression when I saw it from the street was not good, but I changed my mind when I entered the cute reception, and again improved when entered my 2nd floor room in the "regular" building. Excellent for resting at night on a clean and comfortable bed, and taking a nice shower in a neat bathroom supplied with basic toiletries. The towels are a little small and thin. The room is ample and overall very clean. There is a small fridge, and AC/ heater. Heavy curtains in the window will protect you from the early bright sunlight at this time of the year. The room is very well sound proofed, I never heard street traffic or people on the exterior hall if there was any. Very helpful and courteous front desk people, perfectly bilingual.

Area recommendations
Don’t miss the Canyon of Ste Anne, 30 minutes drive from the City, with the magnificent Basilica of Ste Anne right on the way. Driving all around the Ile de Orleans was also a unique experience, with its rural landscape in such an unexpected location. But the best of all is to wander through the streets of all Quebec, walk the parks, and admire the Architecture. Feel the “Savoir de Vivre” !!!
Dining
Cosmo restaurant in the City is an excellent choice, open late with gourmet food at reasonable price and very modern atmosphere. There is a revolving restaurant on the 26th floor of Lowes Hotel, that I can’t remember the name (L’ something) but I will never forget the view. Food was ok, service was excellent, live music, choice of a la carte or buffet. You will recognize the prominent disc at top of the city.

“WOULD BOOK THIS HOTEL AGAIN”

The rooms were a pretty decent size, We were travelling with 2 kids and they were running around without bumping into anything. The room is a bit dated but the bathroom was nice, a bit small - but the shower massager was a plus. The room was clean and did not have any unpleasant odors. The beds were comfortable, the room also had a mini fridge which was convienant if your traveling with kids. The staff was extremely polite, they spoke english , and was very helpful with recommendations for site seeing ,restaurants, and driving directions. The locks were a bit odd, you had to twist the knob to lock, took a while to get use to that. There was free on site parking and a computer in the reception area if you need to use it. Overall , I would recommend this hotel.

Area recommendations
I WOULD RECOMMEND OLD QUEBEC CITY TO EAT, MOST RESTAURANTS IN THE AREA DO NOT HAVE ENGLISH MENUS, MOST WERE ALL IN FRENCH. THERE IS ALSO A SMALL ISLAND ACROSS THE BRIDGE , IT HAD A SMALL CHOCOLATE SHOPPE WITH MOSTLY HANDMADE CHOCOLATES AND FUDGE, THERE ARE FARMERS MARKETS AND OTHER SMALL SHOPPES ALONG THE WINDING ROAD.
