“Business trip to Quebec”
I had a conference in Quebec City at Université Laval and hotel ALT was one of the suggested hotels. It was close to Université Laval, but it was far from most of the attractions in Quebec City. The room was clean and comfortable and the service was good. The price was reasonable. Overall, nice and comfortable hotel, but not exceptional.
“Delightful Surprise!”
Stayed here for two nights rather than closer to the Old Port because of availability. Friendly service, clean, modern rooms, good restaurant next door, free parking and wifi. Beds were very comfortable. Property was quiet both nights. It is located near major shopping centers and the University of Laval, and just a few kilometers from the Plains of Abraham. It's a quick trip to the Old Port or anywhere in upper or lower town. We will definitely stay here again because of the quality of the property and the price - great, great value.
“Best Shower anywhere!!!”
ALT hotel is a cool place to stay... very modern. The shower head is out of this world! The mattress was firm and comfortable... I'll stay here again. It's a little far from vieux Québec (a $15 cab ride), but close to great shopping, and several great restaurants.
“modern and clean hotel”
The ALT hotel is a modern and clean place that is great for younger couples. I would recommend that you have a car if you would like to visit Old Quebec or Isle d'Orleans...they have free parking!
“Not impressed”
I do travel quite a lot for business and leisure. I beleive that top tier hotels can only get high marks and true customer satisfaction in the level of details the pay attention to. Overall, my stay was just okay. Rooms are awesome, but two really annoying things happened. First, I liked the fact that this hotel provided outside free parking where I could get to my car without having to go through the valet service each time. When I got there, the restaurant adjacent to the hotel filled up the entire parking so none left for guests. Oh well, it happens. Second, when I woke up at 4:30 AM, I slipped in the complimentary bathrobe and wanted to enjoy a warm coffee using the in-room Keurig coffee machine before starting to work. At this hotel, they provide the machine but no in room Keurig K-Cups. You need to physically go to the front desk to either get already made free coffee or pay 2$ for each Kreurig K-cup to use the in-room machine. This ruined my morning. Picture this at 4:30AM, I had to get dressed up, take the elevator, buy my Kreurig K-cups at the front desk, take the elevator again, and get back to my room. Not really my idea of a relax and cosy morning. Details are everything and to remove in room coffee (to save money? common 1$ (50 cents a K-Cup)? is a very bad business decision from the management and give the impression of a cheap hotel. In two weeks, I will try one of the two other hotels accross the street.
“Acceptable”
Hotel is acceptable for the price. The decor is very nice and modern. There are a few minuses: bathroom very design but not very practical. Our room was on the first floor, overlooking an old motel. The breakfast in the restaurant was tasteless with very bad coffee, not worth it. Hotel located a little far from the main attractions of the city. Will not return.
“Cool hotel!”
Cool and modern hotel! 20 minutes away from downtown Quebec by bus. The bus station is right outside the hotel and many buses can take you downtown and back. Rooms are super comfy, beautiful and clean! Breakfast is not included but there is a great restaurant with affordable prices attached to the hotel. For the price, I would definitely stay there again!
“A Boutique Gem in Ste. Foy”
Elegant and clean, sleek and modern. It was a little loud at night. One problem was no free coffee and tea, they are part of the honor bar. However, breakfast was reasonable and came with coffee or tea. Cool spa products in bathroom, soft beds, ear plugs were available. Overall it was hip, fresh, young feeling, even the amber bathroom recessed nightlights were cool. Great for adults---can't imagine having kids with me.
“Good Value”
Overall good value. The room was a little small, but it was clean. Priorities were a little different from mine though. I appreciated the free parking and the free Internet service. The room had a new flat screen TV and a Bose Radio/CD player which were extra features that were a pleasant surprise. However, if you chose to brew yourself a cup of coffee (a cup, not a pot, as it was a one cup dispenser) it cost you $2. When we arrived in the room there was a small piece of soap that was left from the previous customer at the sink. That little piece of soap kept us company for our entire three day stay, and was never replaced. It became such an established presence I actually gave it a name. Overall, I had a favorable experience. I appreciated the extras, but found some of the areas they decided to economize on a little strange. I should also add in all fairness, that the front desk staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful.
“Swanky, cheap and just down the street.”
An inexpensive, yet kinda swanky hotel just a bus ride away from all of the locations we wanted to hit while in Quebec City.
