“Less commercial - Loved it!”
We stayed here for 4 days over Christmas with our two grown teenage sons in a 2-bedroom with living room, dining room, balcony. It was fabulous! The property has a number of 4-storey apartment rooms. We overlooked the pool and the open air restaurant where we had most of our meals. Concierge service was wonderful for arranging excursions as there is nothing on-site.
“For those looking for something different than an all inclusive”
This condo hotel was a nice alternative to an all inclusive resort. Although it is much smaller and quieter than the all inclusives, it is meant for those that want the freedom to choose meals, etc. Wonderful ocean beach front in between all inclusive resorts, quiet and private condo with pool. Condo was comfortably equipped with daily maid service. Staff were friendly and helpful although mainly Spanish speaking. Market and fruit stand within walking distance.
“Exceeded expectations”
Very enjoyable stay!
“Pleasantly suprised”
From the time we arrived, until we left, we felt like we were home. We knew nothing about our destination but could not have been more satisfied. The management and staff were a pleasure to deal with and were eager to help us in any way. Great value for the price. We found a quiet solace in the mass of busy resorts.
“Great Off Season Vacation”
The Stanza Mare is a great place to vacation in the off season (July). My grown daughter and I planned a spur of the moment girl"s vacation just to relax and soak up the sun. It was wonderful.. Most days we were the only ones on the beach. The security guard met us each day at the bech with a big smile and wave, and would take our lounge chairs and snack table to the water's edge. Lots of water activity, tour boats leaving all day long, providing lots of interesting viewing. The water was beautiful crystal clear and warm. Spent lots of time just relaxing in the water. Restaurants on the beach nearby were fantastic. The penne pasta with seafood in vodka sauce was the best we've ever had. A great private family resort. Well maintained, lush landscaping, beautiful pool and great outdoor restaurant baar/grill. The apartment was nicely appointed, tile floors and lovely tiled bathrooms. Kitchen fully furnished to cook meals and eat in. We had a great time! The only thing one must know before planning a trip to Punta Cana is that Spanish is the native language, so if you do not speak the language, you will have a difficult time! I would definitely reccommend Stanza Mare rather than an all inclusive, as they were really crowded, the beaches were extremely small because of all the lounge chairs stacked row after row and side by side. Try this resort, I would stay here again if I decide to revisit! 2 girls from New Jersey
“Great for quick walk to beach and swimming pool!”
Although not an all inclusive spot, this hotel was good for its proximity to the beach, a nice swimming pool, very friendly and helpful staff. Free Wifi was provided by the hotel along with Tv channels in Spanish, English and the Italian channel. The room was set up condominium style (refrigerator provided, microwave, ironing board, 2 bathrooms, oven, sink and nice pool side view. However, having an all inclusive option with more ammenities on board would have been nice. Very comfortable stay.
“Excellent staff and food: no activities”
We stayed a week. Our room was huge with a separate bedroom for the kids, kitchenette, A/C, 2 TV's,balcony.Staff was charming and helpful.Food was excellent,well-presented but exactly repetitive.Pool and beach were clean and peaceful.NO ACTIVITIES AT ALL.Nothing to do at night.Regrettably no music, dancing or activities person because it is mostly a condo and the owners do not want to be disturbed by noise.Price:unbeatable.My son(a student)loved it(so he could study) but missed interacting with people his age and had to go to neighboring hotels for volleyball, etc. I would go back because the people were so nice.
“Not for me...”
When I first walked in to the office to sign in, it felt like I was in a car rental office. It was dingy. one desk with a computer and one guy behind it. very disappointing. We have a family of seven with 4 luggages. The security guard and the guy behind the desk brought our bags to our room. We didn't have that luxury when we left. We called and waited but nobody got our bags. I guess its not that type of hotel... They put us on the second floor. no elevator. walk up. we had a stroller and a baby. not easy. The grounds are nice. white buildings, clean pool. clean rooms. We had a 3 bedroom suite. Huge balcony overlooking the ocean. Full kitchen. We were not impressed with the furnishings. the sliding door lock was broken. The front desk guy came up and told us there was nothing he can do. I was afraid for my family's safety and he didn't have another room. So, we put down the hurricane shades. It solved the problem but the wind against them made a scary whistling sound all night. The bedding was very shabby. The toilet paper holder broke in my hand. The pillows were rock hard. After very little sleep, I awoke to a dog barking non-stop. The breakfast @ the hut by the pool was surprisingly good. The waitress was so sweet. We spent 1 night. I would not return to this place.
“Great idea executed poorly”
Renting condo in Punta Cana was very appealing to us, after doing so in other parts of the Caribbean. Pictures of this hotel looked promising and we booked the trip. To our discontent upon arrival, our unit looked as if it was not cleaned for long. Bathrooms were dirty as was the kitchen. The fully equipped kitchen had no coffee maker, minimal selection of pots and dishes, the knives were rusted, etc. The front desk personnel were very amicable and helpful. Prompt to attend to our requests. However, when the requests were passed on to the maids, they were performed poorly and untimely. Many things were done half way if at all done (ie. rooms were not cleaned properly, occasionally rooms were not made up at all) Do not disturb signs were rather a call for maids to ring the door bell , maybe seeking an extra tip for whatever services provided while we were in the room. The so called restaurant is nothing but the pool side bar dressed up with table cloth. Food was below average, ambiance was below 0. All in all, the place looks like it has potential, but my wife and I will never be back to reassess it. My wife and I are seasoned travelers who very much enjoy the luxuries of 5 star resorts as well as the adventures of road trips and informal travel. We have had many great experiences in Punta Cana and its neighboring areas. Hopefully you too get to experience the beauty of this region without the inconveniences of a poor hotel choice.
“Would not return.”
Room was very rundown, cieling leaking, granite coming away from wall, not fully equiped with cooking or dishes inkitchen
