“Just got back from a wonderful Vacation..”
The hotel/resort was just as advertised. The resturants offered a wonderful variety of pleasant dining. The only thing you must do is make reservations for each night on the first night because the seats fill up fast. Forget trying to get a seat if you dont call ahead. Worse case, you'll still have a spot at one of the 2 buffets which also offered a great spread of options. I would also recommend getting transportation from the hotel booked in advance. Club Caribe was very reliable, on-time and a pleasure to work with. The hotel was spotless. The grounds were always well kept. As long as you spend the majority of time on the resort, you'll be very safe as well. Security is always walking around to ensure you're ok. I also recommend booking activities well in advance because they fill up. Booze cruise wouldnt be necesssary because you get all the drinks for free at the hotel. I'd recommend the Reef Explorer which lets you swim with sharks, sting rays, and snorkel in a safe environment.
“Gran Bahia Esmerelda -- Excellent!!”
We booked the Club Golden and stayed in the Esmerelda section of the Gran Bahia. Our room was beautiful and updated and always kept very clean. It was nice to have our own lobby, restaurants and pool away from the large crowds. The food was excellent and the bartenders always made fantastic drinks. As always at all inclusives, a little tipping goes a long way. We spent about $20 USD per day in tips and always had excellent service. I would highly recommend paying the little bit extra to upgrade to the Esmerelda. It's totally worth it! This was our second trip to the Gran Bahia Punta Cana and we will definitely return. We love the beautiful Dominican beaches and the people are wonderful too. Everyone is always happy and cheerful and polite. Definitely a great place to vacation.
“Great Resort - Good Food”
Everything at the resort was great. The only two negatives i would say is that you have to pay for your safe in your room, it's only 30.00 for the week, but i thought it should be included. Also, the resort is so big, i would have liked a better explanation of the property. We couldn't even figure out were we could eat the first day. Overall, one of the best resorts ive been to.
“Beautiful Resort! Fantastic trip!”
I stayed at the Bahia Principe Punta Cana June 1-5, 2007. I've been to a number of islands in the Caribbean and stayed and various types of hotels. This was my favorite trip so far. The property is lovely and not at all confusing to get around. You get a handy map when you arrive and there are signs all over the resort. While the resort is large, in no way does it feel too large. It's so pleasant to walk around that I never felt like it was too big. I walked to and from the beach and everywhere I went most of the time. Though I took the tram a few times, which seemed to always be there to pick me up, just because it was fun and provided a nice breeze. The staff of the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. All those folks who complained that the staff doesn't speak English should frankly remember that you're in the Dominican Republic and you should arrive prepared to speak Spanish. One or two phrases usually does the trick. The room was very large and always clean. The food was sometimes quite good sometimes okay. Remember, a buffet is a buffet. Don't expect a 5 star French restaurant and you won't be disappointed. I would recommend this resort to anyone visiting the Dominican Republic.
“First Rate Resort”
Overall the best place I have ever stayed!
“I would love to come back!”
It was my first time at an All Inclusive resort. I thought the hotel was beautiful, the beach is amazing and the staff is super friendly. I thought the food was pretty good and I loved the little shops outside the hotel complex. I would love to bring my parents to this place.
“Better than the pictures!”
The pictures that you see do not do this hotel justice. It is clean and the landscape is lush. There are palm trees all around, pools at every section (with swim-up bars), you can either join in on activiites or just relax peacefully. This hotel has it all. There is nightlife (although the shows are not Broadway level-they are enought to entertain you in the evening). The room was spacious and clean, mini-bar is stocked with water and soda daily. This hotel provides everything you want in a Carribean vacation, great beach with clear water, clean pools, clean hotel room, and not to mention all-inclusive!
“awesome”
All food excellent even buffets. Went horseback riding and half day fishing, caught a blue marlin. All staff really happy people.
“money well spent”
there is an additional charge for safe box while other hotels include it in an all-incl. rate.
“Amazing experience!”
Hotel was very clean and well maintained. All staff were ready and willing to serve.
