“Great and quiet”
Great hotel, good beach, very good food and good drinks.
“Great stay in D.R.”
One of our best trips ever. 1st all inclusive any we were very satisfied with all foods and drinks. Hotel did not cut any corners. People were very eager to please and very pleasant. Rate a 10 in our book. We did have upset stomachs but once we stopped drinking table water and coffee the stomach issue went away. We stayed with all bottle drinks, well except for the banana mama drink. They were addicting. Have fun.. Go there!
“Best hotel in punta cana”
Me and my husband just got back from the Esmeralda and its one of the best hotels we have stayed in everyone is so friendly the hotel is so clean and the up keeping is amazing the food is amazing and the service is great everyone who works there definitely tries there best to make your stay as pleasant as possible and tries to have all your needs taken care of as quickly and efficiently as possible and I would definitely recommend for anyone who is going to punta Cana to stay at this hotel
“Not bad but don't plan to go back”
The food was okay but generally we felt it was overly oily, overly salty and somewhat redundant. The presentation was always very pretty and the buffet always clean and well-stocked. The stand alone restaurants are slightly better than the general buffet but we still wouldn't go so far as to say they had "great food".
“Definitely Not A 5 Star Hotel”
I spent 6 days at the GBPE in mid-March 2012. Overall, I was extremely disappointed. I guess that the 5 star rating that you see on TripAdvisor had me expecting a lot more than what I found. The rooms are tired, old, and not well cleaned or kept up. I switched rooms after my first evening there because my first room was so dirty and had so many things broken that I couldn't stand to stay there anymore. The second room was in a moderately better state (though the remote control and alarm clock were broken in the second room, the cleaning was somewhat better) but it was still tired and dusty. I once walked up the stairs to my room with a housekeepers. We all passed candy wrappers and bottles on the floor of the stairs along the way (not to mention the fact that the floor was obviously long unwashed) and not a single one of the housekeepers moved to pick anything up. The garbage remained on the floor for two days. I also had a housekeeper let herself into my room without knocking while I was changing into a swimsuit. The beach is horribly crowded. In contrast to its neighboring hotels, the GBP has a very narrow strip of beach with tons and tons of chairs packed into it. If you don't want to sit far away from the water in the Esmerelda only area, your chair will be surrounded on all sides by other guests whose chairs are not more than two feet away. The food was lame everywhere. The Michael Jackson show was beyond amateur. My massage was, in a word, aggressive. Skip GBPE.
