Sheltered under a thatched roof, a seven-room health spa features hydrotherapies such as Cleopatra's Milk Bath and Chocolate Dreamland, body treatments such as European Seaweed, and facials such as Tropical Bamboo (surcharges). Treatments are also available in open-air cabanas. The spa contains Vichy showers, women's and men's saunas, a unisex steam room, and an ocean-view four-person unisex spa tub (surcharges for all). An air-conditioned ocean-view fitness center contains cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights. An Internet center offers computers with high-speed connections (surcharges).
Ground transportation:
Shuttle vans and private cars of varying prices are available. They can be reserved during the process of booking a reservation for this hotel, via this Web site, and added to the total trip cost.

The majority of recreational activities and facilities described below are included in the room rate at Barcelo Dominican Beach-All Inclusive (scroll up to the All-Inclusive details section for more information).
A water complex features a 72-m (236-ft) freeform pool with beach entries, a separate children's section, and a swim-up bar; a 33.5-m (110-ft) freeform sports pool; and two 10-person spa tubs shaded by seagrape trees. The hotel's frontage on the 32-km (20-mi) Punta Cana beach of light-colored sand extends 350m (383 yds). Thatched sunshades surround pools and line the beach.
The resort supplies kayaks, snorkeling gear, catamaran sailboats, and windsurfers. The resort's water-sports center offers banana-boating, parasailing, and speed-boating as well as scuba-diving instruction/certification classes and scuba-diving/snorkeling excursions for surcharges.
Other facilities include an archery range and lighted tennis and basketball courts (surcharges for night play).

“Awesome trip at an affordable price!!!”
Had a wonderful time!! The service was great and the food even greater!!!! The only issue I had was that the beach could have been cleaned, alot of seaweed on shore, other than that everything else was great!!!!
“Outstanding service, great customer skills & awsome staff!”
We got there late thanks to last minute directions and problems with the car rental agency (not Expedia's fault) Once we got there it was great our family was greeted with drinks and an outstanding waiting area. Once they located our information we were golf carted to our rooms! We didn't even change over and went to eat a never ending buffet of great food. We are already planning on our next trip back there again. Thanks Expedia! Also, thank you Barcelo Dominican Beach.

We loved the resort and this would not stop us from going back, but we did see room for improvement, regarding maintenance in the bathroom, shower handle didn't work. The last day we were locked out of the shower. The sink stoppers were broken. Room service took three calls, two days and a trip to the front desk to get a broken iron replaced. Then the replacement iron was burnt on the bottom. We also could not get the towels we wanted when we needed them. I know it was summer break and a lot was going on but I should have not had a towel problem everyday. We even followed their towel rules, which we did not mind, but we did not get back the right exchange. (hand towel for a hand towel, washcloth for a washcloth and so on).

What a wonderful hotel. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. I was very relaxed and enjoyed my stay.
“Pleasantly Surprised”
I have to say I was a bit worried when I read all the negative reviews. While not the fanciest hotel in the Dominican, it proved to be a wonderful peaceful break for us. Food variety was so-so..but easy to make reservations at any of the restaurants. Room was a bit outdated, but cleaned daily as long as you put the "please make up the room" sign outside on the door. Mini bar was always restocked, they even came and fixed our smoke detector and phone that didn't seem to work. Beach is AMAZING! So are the pools. Never had trouble getting a towel..even exchanging a wet towel for a dry one in the middle of the day. Chairs at the beach and pool were abundant...not the kind of situation where you need to reserve early in the morning at all. We even were able to get umbrellas by the pool in the MIDDLE of the day once it got real hot and wanted out of the sun. Staff was VERY friendly, attentive..and extremely cheerful. Nightime entertainment was sometimes more comical than I think they intended, but at least there was something to do, and the bar is right there so you can just relax have a few drinks and watch the shows. Again, definitely not the fanciest hotel (in terms of the room) b ut considering what you get for you money...its a great deal! Had a blast and would go back again.

“Awesome Vacation”
First visit to the DR and was a litle concerned after having read some of the reviews of this property. Went ahead and booked this trip and having now returned I can't understand any of the negative reviews. The Dominican Beach Resort was definately very well kept. The food was very good, there were 5 theme specific restaurants and three buffet style. Finding something to eat was never a problem and the variety should allow even the most finicky of eaters to find a decent meal. The entertainment was enjoyable and the staff went out of their way to ensure that should you choose fun was a moment away. This hotel has a large expanse of oceanfront beach and the water and beach were spectacular. Having stayed at several tropic destinations this rates at the top. Was glad I made the trip and have no complaints. TO those who are considering this hotel and wondering whether or not to stay I have one piece of advie, you go for the beauty and fun....ignore those who gave a poor rating my wife and I enjoyed thistrip and would reccomend it and the staff at Expedia.
“Good Hotel...Great for the price”
The staff was excellent. They were fast and friendly. The beach and grounds were excellent. The pool was clean. The food was good. There were a lot of options. I went on a few activity trips and had a great time. The room safe worked well. I had a nice view. The only cons I can think of are that the bed was a mid-level hotel bed and most the TV channels were in Spanish. So I didn't watch TV. There was ample security. The little town outside the hotel was fun. Some hotels that we drove by were out in the middle of nowhere. I would definitely go again and I would stay at this hotel again.
