Spa
Barcelo U Spa has 17 treatment rooms including rooms for couples and outdoor treatment areas. Massages are available on the beach and in the spa; other services include facials, body wraps, and body scrubs. A variety of treatment therapies are provided, including aromatherapy and hydrotherapy. This garden view spa is equipped with hot springs/mineral springs, a mud bath, a sauna, a spa tub, and Turkish bath/hammam. Visitors of this water view spa can round out their time of relaxation with a trip to the boutique.
Guests under 16 years old are not allowed in the spa.

“Can't wait to go back!!!”
This was the best hotel i've stayed in .The food was great,customer service was excellent,everything was nice and clean.I would recommend anybody to this hotel never had any issues in the week that i was ther.LOVED IT THE BEST!!!!
“A little bit of paradise...”
The hotel and the grounds were pristine. The rooms were large and modern. There were only a couple of English speaking TV stations - but who is there to watch TV? WI-FI is not free. You have to go to the gift shop every day and purchase a "24-hour pass" to have access to Internet. The pools were posh and well-kept. The beach was gorgeous. The grounds crew raked the beach every morning before 7 AM. Guests can safely walk the beach in both directions for several miles. Guests of other resorts said they did not feel safe walking the beach and were discouraged from walking very far along the beach by their security people fearing robberies or harm. There were many restaurants - French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Mexican - all very good from what I hear. Also a sports bar, breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. Getting reservations was an interesting process requiring waiting in lines but doable. Again, had to figure this out as it was not clear how to get into the restaurants. House wines were not very good, but better wines were available for purchase at the restaurants. The beach was stunning - the water clear and clean. I went as a single person. Most everyone there is a part of a couple or family. I didn't mind as I was looking forward to some solitude in the sun. Each night in the casino I met great people playing Blackjack.Did not go to a show. Did not play golf, although I heard the course was ok. Much of the staff is extremely limited with English. I would go back!!

“Paradise”
I was skeptical after reading reviews from here and other websites but I can say that this place was absolutely wonderful. Expedia/Blue travel services took real good care of us from the arrival to the country and the departure. We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived to the resort. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. The service was wonderful. Swim up bar was great during the day along with beach activities and there were a number of excursions to choose from. The drinks were delicious (especially the banana mama). Hector and Gabriel through Blue services really helped us with excursions and travel arrangements. A couple of suggestions: you will need sunblock. Even if you do not burn, you will burn there. there is a dress code for the sit in restaurants (French, Seafood, Japanese, Steakhouse) Ladies, bring nice heeled sandals and a couple of dressier outfits and men- no open toed shoes. Bring lots of one and five dollar bills for tips. You can imagine how a two dollar tip can help the employees. Our room was on the back end of the resort and on the third floor. I am sure that many would complain about this but it is not a bad walk. The steps were rough the first few times but we got used to it. I think it would be a problem if someone has joint problems. This is a tourist place for Europeans and please beware that many are topless. Go to the Disco! We are already planning to go back and bringing my mother. It will be a dream come true for her.
“ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS !!”
The Barcelo Bavaro hotel complex has been 100 % remodeled and it is absolutely wonderful! If you stayed here in the past and loved the beach, the casino, the hospitality, the proximity to the airport ... those things haven't changed at all. But the hotel is completely upgraded, 3 new infinity pools with in pool loungers, lots of new restaurants for dinner (French, Spanish, Japanese, Mexican, Italian, Seafood, Steakhouse), new shows, a state of the art spa, hot tubs on every balcony! And for those of you who don't like the DR food, they now even have a 24 hr sports bar where you can get your hamburgers and pizzas whenever the craving strikes! If you've been here in the past you have to go back to see what they have done to the hotel. If you've never been here before, believe me, this is the best hotel on one of the best beaches in the world!

“Best Place in Dominican Republic...”
Super nice place...the food was amazing; wide variety of different including tropical fruits; pastries and chefs cooking eggs cook to order. The evening consisted of several restaurant options including a steakhouse, French, Italian, Spanish and Mexican restaurants. To make reservations for the evening restaurants was very easy; there are several concierge stops all around the resort. The evening show was also very entertaining and very funny as well. The resort has a night club and a Casino. I recommend not to play at the casino as you will most likely loose your money. There is some construction going on on the resort, but ask for a room away from the construction area. Its all inclusive resort, have as many pina coladas and coco locos as you can handle. The staff always appreciate a small tip!!!! I recommend this resort and cant wait to go back in about 2 years.

Huge hotel. A little bit crowded, but very impressive. Sea not so blue as I have imagined. Good staff. Good restaurants. A good place to take a rest. Don't forget to visit Saona. Caribbean blue sea!
