I arrived at the front desk to begin with my check-in, they sent me to the Bávaro hotel, even though my reservation was for Bahia Principe Gran Punta Cana. (Later I realize that they are like Siamese twins). Ericka suggested to upgrade the rooms, because she said the hotel is old and only a few rooms were renovated. I agreed and paid the upgrade. They were nice but, one had the front door frame out of place so, it was very difficult every time we had to close the door, you had to pull it hard, I imagine the guests next to us must have woken up with the noise. My room had mold on the ceiling of the shower, the ac did not cool, to the point of not having to cover myself all night and one of the decorations on the wall was covered in mold. At the buffet, I was waiting for a spaghetti when I saw a cockroach walking up and down the counter where the cooker was, and he didn't even flinch. I imagine that the hotel would be quite full, and they decided to open a room attached to the buffet where no one wanted to sit because of the strong musty smell.
