Exceeded ExpectationsPosted 16-Apr-2014
Pros: Awesome Staff, Beautiful grounds and surroundings, amazing food, fabulous entertainment and LOTS OF ACTIVITIES FOR THE KIDS!
Cons: In a perfect world the Gym there would have a massive air conditioner blowing air on the treadmills... that would have been nice.. :-)
Location: The town of Bucerias was a 20 min walk down the beach. We enjoyed shopping and lunching there. We also went to the boardwalk in PV which was GREAT
I have been to several all-inclusives throughout Mexico. This was the first time we took our kids (ages 12,11, and 6). I chose this resort becuase of the kids. I wanted a swim friendly beach with activities onsite and a great pool to keep them happy all day long. I am over joyed that I picked Flamingos Villa Del Palmar. The pool is ideal for all ages but you will especially love it if you have a little one (toddler). The pool is HUGE and offers a large area of knee deep water for the little ones to play safely while mom and dad enjoy a margarita from the lounge chair right there. There are always lots of lounges available too... no having to run down and reserve at the crack of dawn like many other resorts we have been to. The rooms were so clean and comfortable. We upgraded to a Penthouse and it was so worth it. Laundry in the room and full kitchen. It also had a private hot tub on the deck.. well worth the upgrade fee. The food was fantastic. Lots of variaty. Great for my very picky 6 year old who I feared would not eat anything since food always tastes "different" in Mexico. I was wrong.. the food was terrific.. and the kids LOVED it all. The drinks were great too.. however it did take a little while for drink service from time to time but it wasn't a big deal.... we weren't on a time clock so it was all good. The resort is also a 20 min beach walk to a town called Buccarias (sp?).. great walk ... cool town with shops and food.. very safe feeling!

Everything was as advertised.Posted 12-Apr-2014
Even though our room was situated furthest from the beach, we still had a nice view of the see from the expansive patio. The food was above our expectations and the staff were friendly.

Beautiful, quiet place to relax!Posted 6-Apr-2014
Cons: My only complaint would be that you have to pay for the internet per device and it can be very slow.
Location: This resort is a short cab ride from a very modern grocery store and a small town with great restaurants.
We have stayed here multiple times, it is always a pleasure to return to Villa Del Palmar Flamingos! The rooms are large and very clean, the view is fantastic and it is a small resort to everything is easy to access. The staff works incredibly hard to make everything perfect. I love going back year after year and seeing the same faces! The beach is beautiful, you can walk for miles in either direction. The restaurants on site are very good and reasonably priced.

Our stay 3/27/14-4/4/14Posted 6-Apr-2014
Pros: The beach, the pool, the staff, the ammenities, the activities, and the fredliness of the staff.
Cons: Off the menu breakfast.
Location: We went zip lining, on a catamarn trip to Jelopa, we went down town Peurto Varata, went to the swim with the dolphins, went to the casino, walked along
We came to your resort with three other famlies for our kids spring break. We loved everything about the resort especially the service and how great you treated my family and friends! I will recoomend your hotel to as many people as I can. Excellent!

Great location. Hotel staff unfriendly and slow.Posted 2-Apr-2014
It was almost like we were putting the staff out by asking for service. Maybe due to the all inclusive package? Seems like the folks that we're paying as they go we're treated better.

Quality family getaway spot.Posted 28-Mar-2014
Pros: Terrific long sandy beach with safe swimming, fun waves, and attentive beach waiters. Ideal for families, no blaring non-stop music at pool. Quality.
Cons: Making timeshare salespeople less visible at breakfast. Listening to salespitches every morning gets tiring. Trattoria food needs far less salt.
Location: definitely take a beach walk to fun beachfront restauarants in Bucerias. Visit Sayulita and swim in the awesome surf and cruise the touristy village.
Everything was as advertised and just like in the photos. In many aspects it was even better than expected. Hotel is well kept and upscale and all staff were pleasant and responsive. Room was spacious, well decorated, and comfortable with good quality furniishings. Great sandy beach extending for miles in either direction and a nice large pool.

Nice hotel within walking distance of Bucerias!Posted 21-Mar-2014
We were very satisfied with the service, room, and everything about our stay. There were more children there than I would have liked. The nightly entertainment was great. We did not get any pressure to join the morning tour when we said 'no'. We walked the beach to Bucerias several times as there are many good restaurants and shopping there. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

Terrific StayPosted 20-Mar-2014
Pros: The food top notch. Bars open all day and into late evening. Pool was super. View spectacular from almost all rooms. Limited beach vendors.
Cons: Only thing I would like to see is public bus service from the hotel to PV. Workers use public bus but doesn't go into PV without several transfers.
Location: 8 miles from Puerto Vallarta and 1 mile from a small Mexican town - Bucerias. Walk the beach. Town is great. Close to Walmart, groceries, restaurant
Saw a couple of not-so-great reviews on Villa Palmar and wasn't expecting what I actually found. It was a beautiful place. The food was superb and the drinks flow from morning to late night, if you want. There are two main restaurants and a Fish Restaurant that doubles for their theme night buffets. I've traveled the globe extensively and this is up there with my favorites. My friend purchased a 1 bedroom for two weeks which blew me away. He doesn't cave in during sales pitches but this place sold itself. The rooms are gorgeous. Currently own time at another place in Nuevo Vallarta. Now with this time, we are going back next year for 5 weeks. 2 at my place and 3 at his. Can't wait.

Destination Wedding stayPosted 15-Mar-2014
Pros: It was extremely relaxing and a very pleasant environment. The staff were all very helpful.
Cons: I realize it isn't always feasible for resorts, but when I am paying for all-inclusive I like to have more options. There are 2 restaurants available
Location: Nuevo Vallarta is a nice relaxing and quiet location as opposed to the downtown areas of Puerto Vallarta. I like that alot.
An absolutely fabulous week!!!! The hotel staff made certain that the wedding went off without a hitch. They certainly catered to all of us who were staying for the wedding.

Beautiful place, just be careful about the "pitch"Posted 9-Mar-2014
Cons: Lay off on or retool the loyalty program so it might actually be appealing. That or accept the "no" after the first ask.
First off, I want to say that the hotel, rooms, service, food, staff, were all top notch. Now, if you're reading many reviews talking about timeshares or what not, here's what exactly happened to us: When we checked in, our concierge offered us a free lunch and a discount card on tours and services if we agree to see a 90-min presentation. I'll forewarn anyone to just say "no thank you". The discount card seems tempting, but the exchange rate in Mexico makes many things a bargain. Just politely decline it. We went for it, and 90 minutes turned into 3 1/2 hours with five different people trying to push us to buy into a loyalty points program. I'll admit it seemed like a nice program...if you have money. The rather pricey buy-in turned us off, and the amount of ways they discounted/whittled down the program to get us to buy only strengthened our mistrust. I'll be honest, next time I'll probably seek a resort that doesn't try to push this, but I'll forewarn anyone to just decline that offer in the check-in and hopefully they'll leave you alone. I'll also say again the hotel was top notch. The service, food, and people were absolutely wonderful.
