Beautiful place, just be careful about the "pitch"Posted 9-Mar-2014
Cons: Lay off on or retool the loyalty program so it might actually be appealing. That or accept the "no" after the first ask.
First off, I want to say that the hotel, rooms, service, food, staff, were all top notch. Now, if you're reading many reviews talking about timeshares or what not, here's what exactly happened to us: When we checked in, our concierge offered us a free lunch and a discount card on tours and services if we agree to see a 90-min presentation. I'll forewarn anyone to just say "no thank you". The discount card seems tempting, but the exchange rate in Mexico makes many things a bargain. Just politely decline it. We went for it, and 90 minutes turned into 3 1/2 hours with five different people trying to push us to buy into a loyalty points program. I'll admit it seemed like a nice program...if you have money. The rather pricey buy-in turned us off, and the amount of ways they discounted/whittled down the program to get us to buy only strengthened our mistrust. I'll be honest, next time I'll probably seek a resort that doesn't try to push this, but I'll forewarn anyone to just decline that offer in the check-in and hopefully they'll leave you alone. I'll also say again the hotel was top notch. The service, food, and people were absolutely wonderful.

Great hotel close to beach and shoppingPosted 7-Mar-2014
Pros: The décor, the size of the rooms (we had a studio with a king bed and we had a couch and coffee table and a wonderful size balcony.
Cons: Activities. Not much to do but go to Bucerius to shop and eat. Going to PV is costly.
Location: Too far from PV. Very little to do but go into Bucerius.
Our time at Villa Del Palmer Flamingos was a wonderful experience. Antonio, one of the bellman was extremely helpful on check in, getting us transportation to our various destinations and recommendations of excellent restaurants. Equally helpful was Vianey, one of the concierge. After a long day of travel she helped me with check-in and change my assigned room to a quieter one. All the staff are very friendly and attentive to the guests.

Clean, great pool, great fitness centrePosted 24-Feb-2014
Pros: Great pool and fitness centre
Cons: Could use more food options
Location: Not enough pool chairs and umbrellas
Very nice resort. Friendly staff. Time share people try to apply lots of pressure to make you agree to sit through their "short" presentation.

Laid Back ElegancePosted 15-Feb-2014
Pros: Everything. Elegant and laid back. Walking distance to Buceries is a bonus!
Cons: The beds are not very comfortable. I like to sleep with doors open and there was sometimes "set up" noise during night.
Highly recommend this resort for value and excellence. Best pool design I have seen for privacy. Great restaurants and having the mini market on site is wonderful if you wish to have food in your room. The staff extremely personable and helpful. Every room faces the ocean. The only negative was that we signed up for the "sales" tour so that we could get the 20% off our stay and the sales staff became overly aggressive and disrespectful.

If I could give NEGATIVE STARS, I would...Posted 9-Feb-2014
Pros: Location and physical hotel was nice. Pool was nice.
Cons: See above comments. Service was the worst I have ever experienced.
Location: There is a fair amount to do in Nuevo Vallarta and Puerto Vallarta.
We are never returning to this resort. To include all details that support a poor review would result in a doctoral thesis, so I will share the main points: We waited at least a half hour to be assisted at check in. Once we started, because of a sales pitch that is required, it took at least an hour to actually get checked in. We, like most guests, just wanted to get to our room and settle for a few minutes after a long trip. The first night we went to have dinner, and were seated, and then told about 20 minutes later that the restaurant did not open until 6 pm, and that is why no one had approached us for orders of any kind. We could have gone for a walk with our kids, who understandably were becoming restless after almost 30 minutes and no dinner service in sight. Then we were introduced to the signing system… even though we were all inclusive, we still had to sign for all food and drink. Not knowing this, we left when we finished with dinner and a staff member was shouting at me to come back because I had not signed the “check”. They tried several times to push their 1.5-hr (but really 3-4 hours as reported by those who did it) time-share presentations. There was no kids’ menu. There was no beer my husband liked and he asked if it could be ordered, so he could purchase it at the store on sight and was told rudely and in no uncertain terms that it was a ridiculous request. Numerous people, including us, had fraudulent charges... (no more room)

The facility is absolutely wonderfulPosted 8-Feb-2014
be prepared for them to try to sell you a vacation plan. The staff was absolutely wonderful, made you feel very comfortable and welcomed. If you have to by food, it is expensive!
