We just returned from a week stay at this property. I was very pleased with most things. I felt the staff was wonderful and very accommodating. The rooms, restaurants, pool area, and common areas were all very clean! The food was actually quite good, the mushroom ravioli was some of the best I've ever had. We reserved a family room, it was the size of a standard hotel room. This was fine, it was just my 18 year old son and myself. The issue is design, there is no privacy. There is no door between sleeping area and shower. If either of us wanted to shower or change, the other person left the room. The other issue, which may not be an issue for early risers is the continuous slamming metal doors starting at 7:30 am. Not sure if it's housecleaning trying to wake everyone up or if guests are intentionally slamming doors. It's not like a typical hotel with wooden doors, these are metal that slam loud and echo throughout room. Others around the pool were talking about this also. Makes it a challenge to stay out and enjoy the late night activities at the resort when you know there is zero percent chance you can sleep in past 7:30.

Everything was excellent. Food was good. Drinks good. Beach was great and walkable both directions. Beautiful view in both directions. Staff was friendly and worked hard to make everyone’s vacation special. Tony at the theater bar was great!! Will miss this place so much! Would definitely recommend this resort to my friends and family.

The resort is a nice property and is laid out well. The food made us both sick. Breakfast by far was the best meal, lunch was the worst. The Italian and Asian restaurants were better than the general buffet. We didn’t try the steakhouse bc we heard it was more difficult to get into. Upon arrival, the toilet wouldn’t flush and the sink wouldn’t drain, the safe was also not working. All was repaired after a call to the front desk except the sink. The service was adequate but not spectacular.

Property was nice. Location was further out than we had stayed before. So be prepared for a 20-30 min drive if you plan to go to Puerto Vallarta or the Marina area. Property has a lot of palm trees which were pretty but also obstructed the view of the ocean from pool areas. We were able to see whales jumping out in front of property from the beach which was pretty neat. Rooms were pretty basic, a tad dated. King rooms are weird set up of two twin beds. So if you like to cuddle with your significant other it can be challenging to not end up in crack between beds. Rooms were cleaned daily. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lobby bar at times had 1 bartender causing there to be a line. First all inclusive that you wait in line for your drinks and aren’t waited on. I didn’t really mind but good information to share. Food was disappointing. Restaurants all served similar items. Everyone in our party had upset tummies at some point of our trip if not multiple times. We left for several meals and those meals were the highlight of trip as far as food. Entertainment in evenings was enjoyable. Although I’m not sure the disco tech was open any of the nights we were there. Overall I guess you get what you pay for. This was an affordable option and maybe why property did really standout in many areas.

Family of four, two kids ages 9 & 4. We’ve stayed at several all inclusive resorts the last few years. Both our kids got food poisoning (not eating anything crazy, just basic kid food items) on different days. Talked to several other families during our stay that said they too, experienced getting sick or their kids did as well. Service was great, entertainment was great. Saw cockroaches walking on one of our plates in the Italian restaurant and on the cereal dispensers in the buffet. Beds and pillows both were TERRIBLE. Never ventured into the pool with the swim up bar as the amount of people (and I’m sure, urine) in that pool wasn’t appealing. Only used the other pool which was nice because the island provided shade and entertainment with the iguanas. We enjoyed our time but preferred Riu Vallarta when we were here the time before.

This was my 5th time here and my last 3 room locations were awful. Ground floor, back side, with workers and noisy carts moving all day. Mosquitos were so bad couldn't even use the patio. Don't see a way to select a better location as I would gladly pay more. Our bed was two made up doubles pushed together. Ridiculous. Won't return.

Beach and pool are great Beach sand did have some trash and debris I don’t think they rake it at all otherwise the grounds are beautiful. Resort was very loud and entertainment went way too late. They had live band start at 1030, splash park was good for littles but otherwise this place is not for families. Family rooms have a dangerous staircase in room not gated for babes or small kids. Restaurant times are very confusing! Stay was just ok. Wont be going back though

This all inclusive resort is perfect for families. The dining options were many. The drinks were delicious. We had fun at the Neon party. My adult children loved the disco. The beach is swimable. There were plenty of chairs! Tipping got you top notch service! The entire place was immaculate!

Where to start. We were so disappointed in almost everything at this resort. The food was generally good but not nearly enough wait staff so tablea aren't cleaned, almost impossible to get water or refills, at the buffet your plates aren't cleared. Breakfast finishes at 11am but they stop bringing out fryit, paatries, and lots 9f orher foods at 9:30 or 10am.A lcoholic drinks have very little alcohol, and tons of ice so very watered down. The door to our balcony would't open and our safe didnt work, so i asked the front desk if they could fix them and they said yes, gave us an appointment at 8pm, but no one showed up. Some of the staff are great but most are aparhetic and seem over worked. In general, this resort seems focused on maximizing profots and mi inizing expenditures at the expense of guests experiences. We would definitely not come back and would not recommend to anyone.

We had a wonderful stay at Riu Jalisco. The property while a bit older is beautifully designed and we really liked how spacious the outdoor areas were. The service was excellent. We stayed in a family suite, which gives you two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a little bar area, a separate little living room with a TV, and a spaces balcony. Each bedroom had a large king size bed, the one bedroom is sort of the general area that you will walk through to get to any of the other rooms. It was perfect for family of 4 plus grandma. There are five restaurants. Regular huge buffet with everything, a Mexican buffet, an Asian buffet, and Italian buffet, and a steakhouse where you order off a set menu. Service at the steakhouse is very slow, it took an hour to get our steaks. We definitely preferred the other restaurants. Overall service was so great, there are lots of bars all over the place, you can get espresso coffees at the sports bar in the morning, or anytime of day really. Tipping goes a long way. the beach is beautiful, there are a lot of palm trees that offer shaded areas to lounge in, there are two adult pools, one with a swim up bar. There are two awesome kid pools, with lots of fun features and slides. There’s also a kids club. We never used it, but it looked like it was a good option for those who would like to drop off the kiddos and have some adult time. Every night had some fun entertainment for both kids and adults. All in all it was an absolutely perfect vacation for us.

The property was clean. We booked a room with 2 beds but it was really 2 beds put together to make one bed and they were too small when separated. So 3 of us sleeping on this was uncomfortable. The buffet was good, not great, but large variety and food was available almost all of the time. The specialty restaurants were either great or not so great. The Italian was the best. We learned to go to the front desk and they will call you a cab. We did not find out we could access a neighbor RIU hotel for food and activities till the end of our trip.

Good food, good food quality, lots of food options, clean facilities Beds need to be replaced. Elevator noise near 5224 room every time its used by the hotel personnel. Its fixable no bid deal. Great hotel ots worth the investment For us no more needs to travel to Dreams resorts, Riu is very good, even better. Fun activities, great live music

It was so nice and friendly treated us like family. Lots to eat and access to the beach or set at the pool all nice and relaxing. All the different activities you can join or grab a taxi and go shopping.

All inclusive is always good because you don't have to worry about food. Great variety of restaurants, great food, excellent staff. The resorts definitely needs remodeling.

The property was loud. When in your room you could hear everything outside the room. The gym equipment was almost all broken
