“A Charming Small Hotel with great views!”

A small charming hotel that is a rarity due to each room having a spectacular view, for the price this place is a little gem! Acess to this public beach is unique because it feels like a private beach. Staff is friendly, and the ambience is pure Mexican charm!

“Good hotel ,”

The hotel staff offered kind and professional service. I liked the modest and familiar scale of the hotel. The rooms are clean, but unremarkable in decor and amenities. Unfortunately, both the two hotel restaurants and bars are overpriced and mediocre, but offer great service and atmosphere. Check out the charming bartender and the lovely sunsets at the "Set Bar".

“Wonderful first time experience.”

This neighborhood is convenient to town, yet removed enough to offer peace and quite at the end of the day. There is a convenience store with a bank machine within walking distance and the bus is right across the street. The bus was very easy, convenient and inexpensive. We ate at both restaurants at or near the hotel and were pleased with our meals and service. The views from the rooms are fantastic, each room has a private balcony overlooking the ocean. The beach is small and when the water is rough it is not good for swimming, but it was pleasant. Lounge chairs and Palapas were provided for guests. The restaurant staff provided food and beverage service on the beach. We will definitely consider a return visit.

“Rustic, quiet, local...will go back again”

I loved the Hotel Playa Conchas Chinas. It's far enough away from the downtown Hotel Zone / Malecon to be tranquil...and yet just 5 mins away by bus or taxi. The rooms are just lovely, with colorful decor and amazing views. The staff is helpful and friendly. Now, this is not an all-inclusive "big chain" type hotel but rather a get-to-know-the-real-Mexico type. Which I loved! Excellent price for a clean, safe, charming experience.

“wonderful”

What a wonderful stay! The service was excellent and the beach is to die for! We took the bus easily into town and back. The reataurant was top notch. The beds were perfect as I like a hard mattres. Having a kitchen and coffee maker was indispensible with our picky tastes and schedule. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for a most excellent stay! The XOXO is ablock away! “A little gem of a quaint hotel in Paradise”

The Hotel Conchas Chinas is a real gem of a hotel, not a luxurious 5 star hotel by any means, but rather a a quaint little hotel with loads of charm and incredible views. The rooms are simple, clean and a little "Funky" in a good way, no other hotel offers a terrific ocean view with you own little balcony at this price. The rooms also come with a little kitchen with fridge and stove. The beach. though a public one feels like a private beach. There is a great little restaurant in the same building though not part of the hotel that serves very good food. The best thing is you can sleep with the french doors wide open and night and enjoy the waves. This is one of the last of the charming old hotels around. It only has about 20 rooms making is it feel very private. All around areal "gem"

“Location, Location”

This is a small hotel with a very magnificent view of Banderas Bay and only a few kms. from old town Puero Vallarta. You can walk into town or take the bus for only 6 pesos(50 cents).All the rooms are reasonably modern with kitchenettes,A/C and face the ocean. It has easy access to its own beach, with very few vendors and in calm conditions, good snorkeling around the rocks. We were only three very easy flights up from "LaPlayita",the beach restaurant(part of adjoining resort) that serves excellent food. The staff at the Conchas Chinas Hotel are most helpful and try to speak english for your convenience. This is not a 5 star resort, just a very quiet,relaxed Mexican Hotel, right on the ocean. we spent two excellent weeks watching whales, sunning,swimming and exploring the Puerto Vallarta area for the 7th time.

“Authentic Mexican Hotel”

It is not a luxury high rise, but it is a wonderful hotel off the beaten path. It's peaceful and has its own little stretch of beach where can go down and just relax.

“Great place to stay away from the crazy hotel zone”

This hotel was a great choice for a smaller hotel. Although not in the hotel zone or right near the malecon, it is a short bus or cabride away. I would highly recommend Playa Conchas Chinas for those who are not into the whole party thing or need to be in the center of it all - simply put, into the tourist thing. No people constantly harassing you to buy something on their little private beach area. Staff was phenomenal, restaurant & staff were great. Also beautiful views from beach side rooms. Only downfall is the mattresses are very hard. If you like a stiff mattress, great, but I woke up with a very sore back two of the three mornings we were there. I would definitely recommend this hotel based on location, friendliness of staff, restaurant and cleanliness.

“very nice”

The hotel was old all ceramic tile and very nice. The furnishings were antique, we did not use the dressers they were more for show. The beds were very nice, we always had hot water, The air conditioning was great. We had a very nice view of the bay from our balconey. The hotel front desk was very helpful negotiating with the taxi drivers and such. Very safe area we walked to puerto vallarta or took a bus for 6 pesos. The food and service in the beachside restaurant was excellent, it was cheaper to eat off the beaten path in town.
