“Fantastic room, awesome view, perfect location”
Really had a great time here. Management was responsive to the few extras we requested and turned us on to an amazing birthday dinner spot which turned out to be one of the big highlights of the trip; the rooms were spotless and well maintained, the air conditioning worked!, and the views from the room (and two balconies) were awesome. This is a great gay hotel to stay in and feel comfortable in, and the location just can't be better, in old town perfectly situated near the beach and the "scene" and also walking distance to the nightclubs and the Malecon. Highly recommended by a fairly picky Calif couple...awesome birthday trip...
“Location Location Location”
The Abbey Hotel was perfect. Locations..location...location. The staff was more than accommodating and friendly. It was definitely a good place to be for a woman travelling solo. I chose the hotel for the in-room wifi service. It wasn't very good in the room I was first in and they had no problem accommodating me into another room. The front desk personnel was very helpful with directions. And the food was great in the restaurant.
“It was indeed a home away from home”
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. All the Staff were very accommodating and friendly. It was past peak season so it was nice and quiet. The restaurant in the Hotel served delicious meals and were quite reasonably priced. It was a block from the beach and a nice stroll. I even got to know some of the locals on my walks there each day.
“Gay, Fabulous, Sedate, Quiet and Friendly - Will Come Back!”
GREAT location. Less than a block from the best beach in town (Blue Chairs and Green Chairs beach area). This is essentially a 3 star hotel with amazingly friendly 5 star service, mostly from the afternoon/evening front desk guy named Carlos. We stayed in a suite. They have a large living room and a nice sized bedroom and a reasonable bathroom with shower. They put bottled water in the room each day. The beds aren't great, but they aren't as bad as some reviewers here and elsewhere make it sound. We had a street view, not an ocean view, but it was a cool view of the street. Breakfast at the hotel is very good and dirt cheap (less than the cost of an egg sandwhich at McDonald's in the US - everyplace in PV is not expensive, but breakfast here is a nice deal). Carlos at the front desk sent us to different restaurants and bars in the area each night and always had great suggestions. On our last night we were moving to a hotel in the hotel district (I had not been before and didn't know which area would be better) and he Carlos told us to leave our bags at the hotel, go to the beach and come back when he got off of work and he drove us to the other hotel (we tipped him nicely for this, but I think he would have done it without a tip). The guests at the hotel are super friendly. Much more sedate than the other hotels in the area. No noise at night keeping you awake and the Abbey is a 5 minute walk from all of the best restaurants in town.
“perfect gay hotel”
Rooms are comfortable, staff is so friendly, wireless internet works in the rooms, very pretty view of the bay, nice pool and hot tub, nice zona romantica location, perfect gay vibe, will definitely stay there again.
“Great Place to stay, Close to the Ocean”
What a great hotel. When I first arrived I was greeted with a welcome drink of my choice! Check-in was a breeze. The staff was great. If there were any concerns they were immediately addressed. Be sure to stop by the bar for happy hour 2-4-1's. The hotel was nice and clean, great pool area, but being so close to the ocean, I didnt really spend much time at the pool. Great restaurants and bars all withing walking distance! I will definately be staying here again.
“This place is the best!”
In the heart of the Zona Romantica, the location could not be better. But what makes this place great is the friendlieness of the staff--especially Carlos! This guy is incredable--I had not been to PV for 15 months, but when I got out of my cab from the airport and walked in the lobby, Carlos greeted me by name and had my reg card and keys already out. THAT'S Customer service! If you're looking for the Hyatt or Hilton they're five mile north of The Abbey, where the cruise ships dock, near Costco. But if you're looking for an experiance of Mexico, wonderful latin hospitality, picturesque village feel, and a comfortable place to call home for a few days--stay at The Abbey. Carlos will take care of you!
“Robert says”
For a hotel that caters to a gay clientele the hotel is excellent: knowledgeable assistance with questions, clean rooms with amenities and guests who were not rowdy. Great location, within steps of most of the action.
“Great Location”
The staff is extremely polite and friendly as well as useful. The hotel is clean and has an open, fresh ambiance to it with plenty of light and views of the area.
“i will stay at this hotel again”
this hotel was great from day one, check-in was easy, desk staff was great, very informative, where to go how to get there etc; hotel bar and restaurant service was excellent, prices good, food was very good. maid service was the best.location was good for a taxi, or a short walk to the buses, or a few minutes to walk to the malecon and all of it's sights.I will stay here again , can't wait to get back!!!!
