We loved this property from top to bottom. Gorgeous setting, lovely room with a great balcony overlooking the ocean. The resort fee was way too high considering how much we had to pay out of pocket for everything. Not sure how they justify that. Expect to spend double what you think. But the food choices were good and convenient, and the pools and beach were beautiful. We were disappointed that we couldn’t swim at the beach due to rough surf but we used the pools a lot and ventured off site to a calmer beach to swim and snorkel. Service was excellent. Our family of 4 had an amazing trip.

Our family truly enjoyed the resort experience. Great selection of pools and the beach was also gorgeous. We loved staying very close to El Yunque Rainforest and participated in a few adventures nearby. Also having a variety of restaurants within the resort was convenient. The only downside for us was that we were quite remote and other places we wanted to visit were 1.5-2.5 hours away from us. All in all, a really great stay!

overall a nice resort. staff was very nice, responsive, and helpful. difficult to get off resort without a car and it would be nice if “convenience store” items in the gift store weren’t so expensive. area around the pool becomes very slippery after rain or after water from pool splashes.

The property is beautiful, staff is so friendly and helpful and the food was amazing!! Rooms were clean and very nice but a little musty when we first checked in. Hard to avoid with the humidity of the rain forest! I would definitely go back! It is a beautiful and safe property!

Property is beautiful with multiple restaurants and pools. Very kids friendly. Only issue was the bed is very minimal, I suggest asking for additional blankets. Also the rooms are very humid. The floors always feel damp so bring some slippers. Other than that the kids loved it. Old San Juan was about a 45 min drive. Rainforest is close by with one waterfall that has a kid friendly paved path. Theres a market and bakery close by so you don’t have to go far if you want to stock your room.

The pools, beach, and most of our dining experiences were great. Unfortunately most hotel staff were rude (except for a few notable members). We were often recipients of uncalled-for nasty glares and combative back-talk. Our room was muggy, the floor was not very clean, and our first set of sheets was dirty. They try very hard to upsell you during your stay, ranging from souvenir cups at the bar to the Margaritaville timeshares that they aggressively push. It detracted a bit from the vacation. Overall, we had a positive experience in spite of the resort, but we’ll definitely take our business elsewhere for our next trip.

My stay at the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Puerto Rico was utterly disappointing. The room and building reeked of dampness and mold, with the lobby feeling like a swamp. The front desk's excuse of blaming the outdated AC for the dampness only added insult to injury. The bedding was atrocious, covered in unsightly red and orange stains, and the staff's solution was to provide new sheets for us to make the bed ourselves – talk about lazy and unprofessional. Charging a whopping $90 per night for resort fees just to access basic amenities like the pool and water is nothing short of a rip-off. The spa was no better, smelling like a neglected janitor's closet. The sight of parrots confined to small cages outside further soured the experience. To top it off, the customer service was abysmal, exemplified by the valet's incompetence in losing our car not once, but twice during our brief one-night stay. With prices reaching $400 a night, one would rightfully expect luxury and impeccable service, yet all we encountered was disappointment after disappointment. Steer clear of this overpriced and underwhelming establishment if you value your money and sanity spend your time somewhere else in Puerto Rico to really get the full experience and beauty of this island.

Beautiful property. Staff great specially Joanne from Marbella’s restaurant and Christian from 5’clock somewhere BAR. Very pricey food and amenities like cabanas. Reception personnel (Gabrielle) could be more polite and friendly. Strong mold odor in the room and hallways on the 3rd floor.

The Wyndham is a great spot with excellent views and access to a rather private and quiet beach. The only major negative was the pushiness of the concierges in trying to push a timeshare pitch while we were there. Im ok with them doing it 1x but they tried on 3 separate occasions. Other than that I thought the room was pretty nice. We were downgraded from a king size to 2 queens, but they gave us a complementary breakfast, which was well worth it.

We absolutely loved our stay! From the second we walked into the resort, the service was impeccable. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and we instantly felt at home. The resort is large and I’m sure they were at capacity since we visited during a spring break week, but it never felt crowded. We never had to fight for chairs at the pool or wait to be seated for breakfast. All the meals we had onsite were fantastic, especially at Roots. We have traveled extensively, and this is definitely a Top 5 resort/vacation for us. We can’t wait to come back!

A beautiful resort with everything you could need on site. We could have stayed poolside or on the beach on site everyday, but the location was also great for heading out to excursions in the rainforest and bio bay.

It was really fun and quiet place. Definitely could use some updating in areas as it needs it and could have a larger pool. The prices for food at the resort are really expensive so we are off the resort a lot. Definitely get a car as the Uber/lyft prices are more than a rental car.

Love staying here on every trip to PR, was disappointed having to wait hours after check in for a room, but other than that , not many complaints. Clean rooms, nice pool and food options. Food at the resort is over priced but many options outside of the resort if you want a less expensive and better selection. Overall great stay!

We loved our stay here. The hotel was crowded as the week went on and I wish they had put out more chairs at the pools. The staff were all wonderful and the ocean is gorgeous.

The rooms could use updating. I had to change rooms after my first night because of a noisy air conditioner, ratty towels, rust on my sheets and lots of rust on my AC vent. The staff was very nice and accommodating

It was very well maintained and staff very friendly. Only thing not so good it was the food very expensive and not so tasty but if you go out there is a lot of choices near by.

I do feel like the system was set up to maximize the amount of money guests spent, rather than maximize their comfort and enjoyment. Go to a grocery store before you arrive and buy a case of water. A small bottle at the resort will cost $9.

The property is dated. The rooms are old and there is a tiny tiny gym. The hot tub looks dirty but it’s just old. The staff is excellent. Nice and friendly. After you check in they push you to another deal but it’s really a time share hard sell. Pretty annoying move. Iguana for dinner is overpriced and not great. Don’t bother. This is more of a burger and wraps hotel
