“SECOND TIME THERE”
MY HUSBAND AND I WERE THERE LAST SUMMER AND LOVED IT AND RETURNED AGAIN THIS YEAR. VERY TRANQUIL,AND PEACEFUL. RINCON IS A BEAUTIFUL LITTLE PARADISE.

Looks are deceiving, at first site our children were concerned that we were staying at this hotel but after entering the hotel and seeing the lush greenery nestled in the mountainside they were excited. The location was a few minutes away from the beach and a car is necessary for sightseeing. It is a unique hotel and for travelers who prefer the experience of a chain hotel this is probably not a good match. Our family, including a 15 year old and an 11 year old, ate two evening meals at the hotel and were pleased with both the portion size and th quality of our meals.
“Great Hotel, Not So Good Location”
Although the Lazy Parrot is a beautiful place to stay, it's location is not quite as appealing. The website promotes that it is above the beach, but this is a little misleading. Although it is above the beach, guests are unable to walk straight to the beach because of the way the roads are. There is no direct path from the hotel to the beach. Guests must drive through winding roads, in order to get to their destination. The Lazy Parrot offers complimentary continental breakfast. I was expecting really basic foods such as cereal, fruit, and breakfast breads. I was pleasantly surprised at the selection offered. We were offered waffles, bagels, muffins, pound cake, yogurt, fruit, and cereal. This was a nice touch because it saved us some money on meals. The staff was friendly and the room was comfortable and immaculate. Now that I know what to expect, I will consider staying at the Lazy Parrot again.

Great place to relax on the hills above Rincon. The rooms with pool view are the best. Great continental breakfast. Excellent restaurant (Smilin' Joe's), maybe one of the best in Rincon.

“laid back”
My family and I only spent one night at the Lazy Parrot and I wish we had been able to spend a few more nights! The best part of the Lazy Parrot for me was walking into an oasis of plants and pool with no air conditioning to ruin it. The rooms did have air conditioning but we did not have to freeze hanging out in the public area. We showed up on a Wednesday which is "Reggae Night" and a band played for hours while they showed surfing videos over the pool. We also ate a decent and affordable meal then. All the people that worked at the pool and restaurant made us feel more than welcome. The breakfast buffet was a simple continental breakfast but there was plenty to eat. The only drawback I can see of this inn was my father is 85 and has a hard time with stairs. There are a lot of stairs and our rooms were located on the third floor with no elevator. But other than that we loved it.
“Cool Hotel”
We showed up a day early, but everyone was so kind and generously made a room available. It was a great room, with a marvelous view, and we didn't have to move the next day. The setting is wonderful! I enjoyed it very much, and would definately go back.

The Lazy Parrot had very friendly staff and the facilities were very clean. I will definitely go back.
