We booked the hotel because of the pictures they posted on expedia it seemed decent plus it was cheap for a one night stay before our flight. We should've known better not to trust the pictures. Right when we got to the hotel, from looks from the outside it was already uninviting, the chairs in the lounge area were peeling and falling apart. We had to wait before we checked in, because our room wasnt ready. So I used the restroom by the bar area, and boy it was very disgustingly dirty like spiders and snakes are gonna come out of it. I took me 30 minutes to decide to use it since I couldnt wait any longer and I ddnt want to get a UTI since our flight was the next day. So we stayed in their beach cabanas which were dirty as well but ddnt really have a choice. When our room was ready, I wasnt expecting much since the hotel was already horrible to begin with, the floor was wet because it was just "cleaned" but the tiles still looked dirty, I never took off my flipflops. I was horrified when I saw the bathroom, the toilet seats had cracks in it and the tiles in the bathroom floor were very old cracked and dirty. At this time I was just completely regretting why I ddnt bring my Lysol. Anyways overall hotel quality was extremely poor. The only good thing about the hotel is the beach cabanas although they were kind of dirty, the staff was friendly, it's next to the beach and 15 mins away from the airport.

Worst Hotel Stay EVER

Posted 23-Jun-2015
Pros: Its location. A strip of restaurants, lounges, clubs and bars.
Cons: A manager with customer service and communication skills. They should have called or emailed me before I arrived to explain that there was a drought.
Location: A strip of restaurants, lounges, clubs and bars.
We had the fortunate luck of booking our trip during a drought in Isla Verde. The Beach House Hotel neglected to email or call us before our trip to notify us of their water rationing schedule. Water was only to be made available from Noon to around 7pm. This was dependent on their "water truck" coming to refill their water tank every morning. We had gone over 24 hours without water because the truck "never showed up". They told us to go buy water down the block at Walgreens if we needed water that badly. Disgusting customer service. Left early and went to another hotel in the area with 24 hour water access (a basic amenity).

Do not stay here!

Posted 8-Jun-2015
Pros: I liked the beach-front access, however, the property did nothing to keep their beach area clean. There was trash, cigarette butts, broken glass, etc.
Cons: Everything needs to be improved.
Location: The beach.
Unless being beachfront is your only concern, do not stay here. There was no one single friendly or accommodating staff member. The service was terrible. Upon check-in I was advised there would be no water during my stay and they had been aware of/experiencing this for over two weeks. Either Expedia or the hotel should've let the guest know that. After 18 hours of traveling and an expensive cab ride to the hotel - the last thing I wanted to do was stand there in the heat and try and make alternate lodging arrangements in a tourist town on a Saturday night. I was told the water would be on and off in 24 hour increments - at no point during my stay did that happen. I was also presented a bill when I checked-in...even though I had already prepaid. The entire property is VERY run down and dirty - the pictures they show on their website and on Expedia are completely misleading. I was offered an 'upgrade' to a room above the bar that they could not then honor because they weren't able to wash the sheets. Additionally there was no tv in the room. The room I ended up with was on the main floor and even when the door was closed, there was a 1/2 inch gap between the door and the frame - so I heard everything outside and especially when the beach bar turned into a nightclub. The temperature control in the room also did not work correctly. I was the only one dining in the restaurant and the staff completely ignored me - it took over 2 hours to eat. It was all terrible.

Horrible run-down hotel yet on the beach

Posted 30-May-2015
Pros: The location to the beach.
Cons: Everything. This place needs some love.
Location: The beach is wonderful. Only good thing about this place.
1) The place is NOTHING like the pictures online. Its run-down and old. It may have been cute 20 years ago but the neglect has taken its tole on this place. It looks awful. 2) The room was cold, dark, outdated and broken. The lamp had a leg missing and when touched at particular angle it fell over, the bathroom door had water damage and just generally run-down. 3) After dinner and a walk on the beach it was 11pm and we wanted to rinse off the salt/sand before bed and no water came out. When we went to the front desk they said "welcome to Puerto Rico" and told us to walk across the busy street to get a gallon of water. Mind you, we lived in St. Thomas which has water issues all the time but are taken care of much better than that. We weren't even warned or told about the lack of water which we could have planned ahead. Once the water came back on the next morning, we turned on the shower and water trickled out and sprayed in weird directions which made it impossible to shower. 4) There was a party happening at the bar which was loud and boisterous until at least 11:30 pm. We were tired and could not relax or sleep. 5) We heard someone talking directly outside our windows and it sounded like they were in our room. Upon further inspection, the windows were made of plastic and had shutters on the outside which couldn't be open for sunlight. 6) Had trouble connecting to the wifi to check mail and flight status for the next day. Front desk told us to go to the lobby in our pajamas

Will never go back only good for a day or two stay

Posted 10-May-2015
The only part of my time I enjoyed there was talking to Jennifer the bartender who told us all the things to see everywhere else in Purto Rico. The floors were sandy, were on a beach but they could have swept before we got there. The front desk was non-existent. Honestly if you're only staying for a day or two it's not bad, but don't stay here long. It's over priced and not as the pictures seem. We actually wound up staying at a hostel for two nights bc the hotel was the worst and most depressing part of our trip.

Great staff but very run down falities

Posted 5-May-2015
Pros: The staff, the setting, the restaurant's food, the location.
Cons: The whole grounds, everything was so dirty you couldn't even sit on their patio furniture. The rooms were also dirty and the bathroom leaked!
Location: The location is great, between the eastern beaches and old San Juan! Very close to the airport. Walking distance to nice Hotels like El San Juan.
I had stayed at this hotel twice before, the last time about 3 years ago and it is a shame how they have allowed this cute little motel turn into the dump it is now! It is very run down and dirty. The staff continues to be excellent but the facilities are just terrible. I will not stay there again. Special thanks to Jenny the bartender who was as attentive as always and who makes the best mojitos!

Awesome place on the beach! Drinks were expensive at the hotel, but there's a great taco place that's cheap 2 blocks down, open 24 hours! We can't wait to go back!
