“Recommended!”

Was initially a little weary but was very pleasantly surprised. About 7 minutes from airport. Clean, comfortable but no window in our room. Right across the beach. Easy walking distance to several restaurants and casinos. The farthest, the Ritz was only about a 20 minute walk (one way). Would stay here again and would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to save a few bucks. Great value.

“HOJO Isla Verde in San Juan: A Great Bargain!”

Our stay at the Howard Johnson Hotel, Isla Verde, in San Juan, was very satisfying! All the advertised amenities and accomodations were true! Probably the best features of the hotel are: a)its great location in the middle of everything, including only a few meters from one of the best beaches in Puerto Rico, fine restaurants and bars, and convenience stores; b)very cordial and professional service staff; and c) clean, large, and fully equipped rooms. This was our first visit to Puerto Rico and we enjoyed it greatly, travelling all over the country, and it was always comforting to return to the hotel and find a good place to rest!!! The only, hitch, albeit a minor one, was that we rented a car right there at the hotel, and we were not informed that there was a charge for parking the car at the hotel parking lot. Not a big deal but the daily rate of the rented car cost us a little more than we were informed. Overall, Thumbs up for HoJo Isla Verde!!

The Howard Johnson Isla Verde is a great hotel conviniently located. The staff was very courteous and helpful. We had an awesome stay and would definitely stay there again on our next trip to Puerto Rico!

“Great accomidations for a fair price”

This hotel turned out to be nicer than I thought. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel was always clean. Dont be fooled by the breakfast that they mention though, you get a muffin OR a crossaint and orange juice OR coffie. That's it. Its sort of a ploy to get you to buy more from the restaurant that they have a contract with. Dont expect to get full. Also, make sure your room has a window. Ours didnt and no one on expedia or in the hotel previouly told us that we were paying for a jail cell. We never knew the weather or the time of day (luckily the rooms have clocks). Other than that, enjoy! Oh yea, the hotel is right on a popular strip so the beach and clubs are in walking distance.

“Extremely impressed!”

I was looking for an affordable hotel to stay for my family (2 adults and 2 toddlers). I was expecting a so-so hotel since it is listed as a two-star. The hotel is right in the middle of Isla Verde (very touristy zone), a block away from the beach! There is a Facio pizza in the hotel lobby (which also offers room service). The staff was very kind and amicable, the room was very, very clean, and the whole experience was formidable. I got a lot more than what i paid for. I definitely recommend it and would definitely book them again, no doubt!

The room was clean and staff where very polite. The only issue was there was work being done on the road in front of the hotel, which was a pain to drive in and out of. And the noise actually woke us up in the A.M. The hotel had an excellent view of the beach from our room, which was great.
