Lovely beach hotel. nice restaurant inside too

Posted 19-Mar-2015
Pros: Location & Charm. Near airport, safe neighborhood, great beach.
Cons: Our room, small, no window directed at the ocean. 2 of them did not open.
Location: Beach terrific, walking fun, restaurants great, very safe, and,of course, close to the airport but no planes flying overhead.
Charming older hotel with a pleasant Asian feel.I was disappointed in our room because it was small and had no view of the ocean. There were many others that did have views. I blame Expedia for this misstep. It was clean, staff lovely and helpful (wake up call & Taxi at 3:30 & 4am). A great last 2 days in Puerto Rico. The ocean was perfect for swimming, body surfing, sail boarding, people watching. They provided lounge chairs & the bar was right there. We left with the ocean in our ears and sunset in our hearts.

Nice hotel very close to the beach.

Pros: Everything! View, Room, Bar
Cons: Hot water issues
Location: Near old San Juan
Overall, it was a great experience! The view was great from the room. The bar was great! The only issue was the hot water. It seems like it would come and go.

Awesome beachfront!!

Posted 22-Feb-2015
This was out second trip to this hotel. We really enjoy the location once you navigate the streets of San Juan. It is in a gated community that has one access route most of the time. The restaurant is very good. Lunch is more reasonably priced than dinner, but you do pay a bit more for the oceanfront atmosphere. Possibly the best hamburger I have ever had!!

Pros: Price- compared to other hotels available. Was on the beach.
Cons: Beds, updates, hot water, rinsing station, sound proof walls, lower price meals & give a little extra like a lettuce or bread! Shuttle to Old San Jua
Location: Nothing to do nearby. It is right on the beach. You need to take a cab to Old San Juan which cost about $20 each way.
We were pleased about somethings and disapointed about others. The worst about the hotel was no hot water. None. It said to wait a little while, but it never turned even warm. It is right on the beach, however when you come back from the beach there isn't anywhere to rinse the sand off. The walls are paper thin. We could hear staff until late night/into the morning. I was woke up by staff laughing really loud in the lobby and we were down at the end of the hall. The restaurant is expensive, food was great, but not for the price. I had a swordfish for $30. The meal consisted of the piece of fish which was very good and about 2 cups of mashed sweet potatoes. Thats all it was- no salad or bread or vegetables. It was supposed to come with lentils, but it was potatoes instead. The staff was very accomadating with our luggage before and after checkout. Also very willing to call cabs for us. The bed and futon were not very comfortable. The bathroom needed some updates. There wasn't free coffee or tea.

Overpriced and underwhelming

Posted 26-Jan-2015
This room was almost $300.00 a night and not worth the $. Do yourself a favor and pick other accommodations in ocean park that are much nicer and priced more appropriately.

Lige ned til vandet

Posted 7-Jan-2015 on Hotels.com
Hyggeligt lille hotel helt ned til vandet. Venligt personale.

Nee!

Unforgetable Weekend at Hosteria del Mar

Posted 28-Oct-2014 on Hotels.com
It was wonderful to stay at this place the view from the balcony was amazing! The colors were so beautiful and the temperature was incredible. The beach right in front of the hotel is slowly coming back, we were able to enjoy the beach just to the side and had a great time! Thanks

Beach front extreme!

Posted 15-Aug-2014
Pros: Beach front
Cons: As good as it gets.
Location: Walk everywhere and discover places. Don't complain.
First day we were there we arrived early, check in was at 3pm and we had to kill 3 hours. Manny kept us well cocktailed hahaha. 1 hour later Gladys got us in the room. Mateo was a superb bartender, very accommodating. The place is not a big resort is a very cozy place small place. Not a place for kids, but more for couples that will be coming out of the room only for air wink wink. The beach is great at only a few steps. No taxi needed, we walked everywhere! Sure you get sweaty in the heat but that's part of the fun. Best 7 days spent, I can't wait to return. J and C from Portland and Venezuela

Nice hotel on private beach.

Posted 6-Apr-2014
Nice hotel except there was no hair dryer or hot water at night or first thing in the morning because it is heated by solar power. Only stayed 1 night.
