Nice location on the beach BUT not what u expect..Posted 14-Jan-2014
Pros: Nice location
Cons: Almost everything except the staff was friendly
Location: On the beach, grab a chair and enjoy
Solar powered water heating? I waisted an hour waiting for the water to heat up for a shower as there sign said "please be paitence". The shower never got hot not even warm. Cold shower !!!. Paint was peeling and cracking, inferior finishes, and smelled musty and moldy Checkout is at 11:00 am and its 50 dollars for an extra hour if you like to have a late checkout as most people do!( 12:00pm) Rediculous! If you stay longer than 12:00 they charge you an extra day at full price. Ok place if you are in a pinch, enjoy cold showers, and don't mind busy locals all around you at the beach during your stay.

Quaint, Cultural Experience Right on the BeachPosted 7-Jan-2014
Pros: location on the beach, very friendly staff, woodwork and cultural beauty of the building
Cons: hairdryers in the rooms, cups or glasses in the rooms, abundance of towels, washing off the beautiful outdoor sitting areas
Location: public beach, park, jogging trails, shaded basketball court, restaurants (B is for Burro - excellent), cheap shopping two streets back
My daughter and I stayed 5 nights at this hotel. The location and the authentic beauty of the hotel were initially captivating. It is located in a gated community, which makes it safe, but many of the gates close at 7:00 PM, so you need to go the one with a guard after that. The staff were VERY friendly! I was disappointed that there were no cups or glasses in the rooms, no ice machine, no hair dryer, and limited towels and toilet paper (which we were supposed to put in the trash can rather than flush it). The restaurant served EXCELLENT food, but at a price. The hotel was in the process of changing hands, so some of these aspects may get better, however because of it's location, beauty, and super staff, I would still highly recommend it - it is a very rich cultural experience.
Very DisappointingPosted 7-Jan-2014
Pros: The staff were very personable, though clearly untrained and amateurish.
Cons: There should be truth in advertising. If a hotel is offering a dirty, ill-equipped and unattractive apartment, they should not charge luxury rates for
We booked an Apartment in this hotel from Dec 31 2013 to Jan 5th 2014, hoping we had found a charming beachfront hotel that would offer a more relaxed vibe than the typical resort/casinos that line the beaches near San Juan. We also prefer to support small businesses than give our hard-earned dollars to giant corporations. Unfortunately we were taken in by the photos and descriptions on the hotel's website as the accommodations we were expected to stay in were of extremely poor quality. The apartment (numbered as Apartment 2) was, quite frankly, shamefully bad. The kitchen had no fridge, a dirty old stove, no silver ware, a few random plates, and one glass. The bedroom curtains were torn, and the bed covering stained. Everything we touched was dirty, there were no rugs, paintings or decorations of any kind.

Would not recommend this hotelPosted 30-Dec-2013
Cons: New ownership with experience in hospitality.
Location: Location is good, nice beach, 20 minutes to Old San Juan and airport. Walking distance to restaurants and amenities.
It was the opposite of "hospitality". Service was poor and unfriendly; room was noisy; windows wouldn't open, roaches in bathroom, water flows out onto floor from shower with no drain, no rugs, drawers fall out of dresser. Per "welcome letter" coffee gratis in AM, but was told they didn't do that anymore. Wait an hour for food. Only saving grace was that is it is right on the beach. There are better reasonable choices nearby.

Not a nice hotel.Posted 30-Dec-2013
Pros: Closer to beach, Front desk staff
Cons: Hot water, Cleanliness, Housekeeping services
Location: There are excellent restaurants nearby (Kasalta, Mongos), and very close to Condado, Old San Juan
-There was no hot water. - Rooms are OK not the same as you see in pictures. - Staff were helpful but could not do anything about our repeated requests on hot water. - Very close to beach -- a big plus. - Housekeeping wasn't great. They cleaned my room only twice during our 8 day stay. - Restaurant is OK, but inconsistent on quality of the food. We had the same dish twice and it tasted different.

great location, rooms a little run downPosted 29-Dec-2013
nice spot on the beach, the hotel lobby is very nice, food is great but a little overpriced. The room we booked was spacious but a bit run down - needed some updating. Our water was shut off without any warning for pump work. Staff was polite but not very sympathetic.
