Gran Melia Golf Resort Puerto Rico is on Coco Beach, 5 km (3 mi)from downtown Río Grande. Featuring a courtyard splash pool surrounded by Balinese-style platform lounging beds, open-air massage cabanas, and padded lounge chairs, the resort's spa includes men's and women's saunas, steam rooms, and spa tubs in private courtyards (surcharges apply for facilities without spa treatment). Treatments include the Vanilla Wrap, the Rainforest Mud Scrub, and the Fresh Herbs Eco-facial. The spa also offers waxing, hair/nail care, and wellness training.
Guests of the Gran Melia Golf Resort Puerto Rico have complimentary use of a fitness center.
A business center contains computers with high-speed Internet access (surcharge). Complimentary wireless Internet access is available throughout the property. The hotel also offers indoor meeting space and open air venues. The resort also offers the services of bilingual professionals to assist meeting planners in organizing themed parties, as well outdoor activities and provide technical assistance.

The 2-story Gran Melia Golf Resort Puerto Rico offers 486 suites with furnished balconies or ground-floor terraces. The suites are in 20 two-story buildings (no elevators).
Decor includes mahogany furniture, marble flooring with rugs, and red-and-tan marble bathrooms.
Beds feature triple sheeting and pillowtop mattresses. Sitting areas with chandeliers are set off by archways and furnished with sofa beds, coffee tables, and two-chair dining sets. Complimentary wireless high-speed Internet access is available, and guests can also use wired Internet access (surcharge). Compact refrigerators are stocked with water and soft drinks (surcharge).
Gran Melia's signature RedLevel suites include the following exclusive amenities: personal butler service; access to a private lounge for check-in/out and complimentary Internet access; complimentary daily breakfast at Café Soleil; complimentary drinks for 3 hours each evening (wine, beer, sparkling wine or Champagne, and sodas); priority reservations at resort restaurants and the spa; and access to a private, adults-only pool area with Bali beds.

Nami - Asian Bistro which offers three theme restaurants in one. A full sushi bar, teppanyaki restaurant, and Pan-Asian style menu infused with Latin influences.
Tempo - Sophisticated, yet comfortable dining specializing in Italian cuisine. Slacks and collar shirt required. Reservations required.
Café Soleil - Breakfast and lunch dishes featuring diverse menus with a local influence as well as a variety of international dishes in a tropical ambiance.
Pasión by Chef Myrta - This dining venue brings you a Puerto Rican gourmet culinary experience. Open for dinner.
Avenue Bar - Tropical, yet chic setting offering a variety of cocktails.
Martini Bar - Lounge. Pre-dinner cocktails or after-dinner cordial or cognac.
Wet Pool Bar and Grill - Dine al fresco at this casual poolside restaurant, serving a full lunch menu, snacks, and tropical drinks. Casual dress or beachwear suggested.
RedLevel Exclusive Pool Bar - Alfresco bar located at the adults-only swimming pool.
Coco Lounge - The new private venue at Gran Meliá Puerto Rico, with tropical music, cocktails and TV.
Recreation
Guests can enjoy an array of activities at Gran Melia Golf Resort Puerto Rico. Daytime activities include tennis, ping-pong, board games, bingo, tennis, water aerobics, volleyball, hiking/biking trails, and merengue and salsa lessons. Non-motorized water sports, such as kayaking, are available (surcharge).
A 1.5 km (1 mile) beach fringes the peninsula, with about 800 m (875 yds) in front of the resort. The pebbly beach is bordered by small boulders protecting sunbathing areas. There are sun loungers and towels available to guests. Offshore reefs block ocean swells, leaving water calm in most weather.
Adjacent to the resort, the Trump International Golf Club Puerto Rico features two championship courses designed by Tom Kite. Resort guests receive a discount for play.
Spa
YHI Spa and Wellness Center
The onsite Yhi Spa offers 12,000 square feet of services on two floors. Features include 9 massage cabins, aromatherapy and hydrotherapy treatments, a spa boutique, and spa salon. Other features include an outdoor relaxation pool with massage areas and Bali beds. A fitness center with high tech equipment and personal trainers is also available. Advance reservations are required for massages and spa treatments.

“Been to PR many times, By far this is the best place I've stayed in!”
Arrive just in time for Spring Break, the Resort is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!! more than what i expected. The employees are very friendly and will help you with anything you ask them for. The pools are huge and has a great atmosphere. Great place for kids, playground, tennis courts, Basketball courts. The Parking lots have securitiy 24 hrs a day so if you rent a car it's extremely safe. The beach is very rocky but considering I'm not a swimmer , i dont mind it i rather sun bathe..... in did see some people having a great time swimming. I highly recommend this resort.

“The Perfect vacation”
Check in and out was very easy. Restaurants were delicious (tried Nami which is Japanese and Cafe Soleil for breakfast buffet) and prices were just a little high. Close to the Belz Outlets (10 mins away) and Los Colobos Mall (15 mins away) in Carolina which has a lot of retailers, restaurants and cinemas. Would love to have my wedding in this hotel because of the precious gardens they have. The pool is huge !!! and with a lot of different areas inside for different types of families. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. Would come back definitely.

We had a great time at the Melia. We upgrade to Royal Service, which was well worth it in my opinion. The beach is rocky but very clean an warm. The service was great and our room was clean and with a very beautiful view to the beach. The only problem was the air conditioner, wasn't really cold.

I love the hotel/resort. The staff was really nice and the room looked great. The restaurants were expensive but if you step outside the resort you can find inexpensive ones. Overall I loved my stay. I definitely recommend it.

The hotel was magnificent! My husband and I have traveled extensively and have not found such great hospitality.We were truely amazed at the beautiful aviance the hotel offered,the accomodations were definately top notch. We can not emphasize enough how wonderful this place was. We are looking forward to spending more fun filled days at Paridisus,the closest place to Paradise her on earth!

We stayed here from 12/14/08 through 12/16/08 in the Royal Service Oceanfront suite and can't say enough about how much we loved our stay here!! We had just finished a week long cruise for our Honeymoon and enjoyed every moment of our cruise and didn't think anything could top the cruise; however, as soon as we saw this beautiful paradise we were wishing we had spent every moment of our Honeymoon here! The landscaping and decor is beautiful, everything was extremely clean, and all of the hotel staff that we can in contact with were extremely friendly. Thank you for making our stay so great! We can't wait to come back!
