“Wonderful stay”
A wonderful hotel, located on the beach and the surrounding grounds landscaped very beautiful. Storefront of shops were very nice. Overall its a 5 star plus.....
“The Bad, The Good and The Unusual”
My wife and I stayed for 7 days and 6 nights (July 31 to August 6) and had a great 25th anniversary vacation! The Bad - the chairs by the pool and beach were difficult to get any time after 10:30am and before 6pm everyday of our 6 day stay. You can not pay cash for anything, it has to be all charged to your room. Wireless internet access (for a fee) is only available in public areas. The Good - Front desk staff was awesome, in particular a great young woman, Alejandra, who gave us great dining and driving directions and always had a great smile and a willingness to help everyone! The hotel grounds were beautiful and our 1 bedroom suite had an adjoining living room and full kitchen. King bed was comfy and big garden tub and separate stand up shower were terrific after a long day at beach or sightseeing. Even though we had to walk a ways to get to the breakfast buffet it was delicious and service was impeccable and thank goodness the buffet was included with our booking as the regular price for the buffet was $26 per person. We had a waiter Henry who gave us great advise on sightseeing on the south side of the island as well as recommending a day trip to Culebra Island (freaking awesome BTW). they have a Starbucks! The Unusual - On our last morning after breakfast a small fire in the basement kept us from checking out as our hotel was evacuated for a couple of hours. The manager, Lemuel, allowed us a late check out with out any hesitation whatsoever and thanked us for our stay!
“Great service, hotel & beach”
Willie at the Palmeras bfast buffet was fantastic - even brought our daughter a bday cake! The front desk staff at the Villas were extremely helpful & informative. The grounds were beautiful. The food at the swim-up bar, Palmeras & Pina Colada Club was all great. If you want cheaper, Subway is close. Take goggles to look at the fish off the beach, or they can rent them to you - lots to see! You might even get lucky & see scuba divers or a sea turtle off the little wooden walkway. The hammocks are wonderful.
“Vacation hotel”
Good to focus on sunbath. Nice beach(probbably best in SJ). hertz available on site. Don't expect nice ammenities in suuroundings. For that take cab to El Moro.
“Superb but with expensive food.”
We had booked a room with a sea view and a balcony, but on arrival they gave us one with a city view and a building site outside the balcony. The staff on the front desk were very helpful and they sorted us out a new room for the second night of our stay, this time with a view of the lagoon. Which was a lot more pleasing. We dined in the hotel's various restaurants on most of our 6 night stay. The Lemon Grass Pan-Asian Restaurant was superb, albeit rather expensive. The Rotisserie, Il Giardino was not so great, although it was ok, my main issue was it is portrayed to be Italian cuisine. I dont believe anyone associated with it had ever experienced anything Italian. One evening I had a Pizza, it was probably the worst one I have ever sampled. Other than that, our stay was very enjoyable.
“Great for a long week end!”
Our 2nd time to the Condado Lagoon Villas, and probably our 5th or 6th time to the Caribe Hilton. We find it to be exactly what we need each time for a very easy and pleasant long week end in San Juan.
“Beautiful but pricey”
The hotel and surroundings were fabulous. The location is convenient to Old San Juan. Our room was large and comfortable. Our only complaint is that the prices on food and drinks were exorbitant. We won't return.
“Recommended Hotel”
Very nice hotel and the location is close enough to The old city and forts. The villas are the best way to stay here so you get to cross over to the main pool area but when you want a more quiet location you can stay at the villas private pool.
“Below Average Hilton Experience”
This is supposed to be a 4/5 star resort hotel, but service at this hotel was disappointing, and the location isolated for casual touring. No restaurants or off-site shops are within walking distance of the hotel. San Juan has limited parking, and a flat taxi fare system, so any trip of any distance is always $12. We were on anniversary, so we typically slept in late. Housekeeping interpreted this as our not wishing any room service. We typically left at noon and returned at dinner to a dirty room. We always had to call and request room cleaning. The bedding is a European style duvet, which I hate because my feet always end up exposed. The second telephone in our room was broken. On arrival, one sink in bathroom had a blocked drain. The pool area was disappointing. Hot tubs are low temperature, and usually filled with children. Not a very romantic destination. Resort caters mostly to retired and families with young children. Food and beverage are expensive. Drinks are $12. Breakfast buffet is $25. On our last day, the pool waitress was upset because I ordered my drinks directly from the bar, instead of with my food order with her. The hotel concierge and the tour desk are side by side in the lobby. If the concierge is busy, the tour desk will not talk to you unless you are buying a tour.
“Book the Conrad instead”
The hotel was old and run down compared to all of the surrounding hotels. The room also had a mildew smell. If you can spare the money, check into the Conrad Hilton instead.
