“I'd recommend this hotel”
The biggest thing I liked about it is their attention to hygiene and cleanliness. Scrubbing pool decks every morning. Filtering pools every evening. Sweeping beaches every night. The room was clean too. The buffet was ok but their restaurants --ESP seafood one on the beach shore was delicious.
“the best vacation ever, kids didn't want to leave”
We had a wonderful time. The excursions were well executed. The trip went to fast. Staff very polite. The only thing I didn't like was the night all the locals came to resort to stay and watch show. Too crowdwd and they were very pushy and inconsiderate.
“Can't wait to go back.”
I have to say this resort was exactly what I was looking for. Clean, friendly staff, nice restaurants. If you are looking to get away this is the place to be..book your room with club premium you will see the difference than booking it in the other regular rooms. Too bad I was only there for 4 nights, but it was totally worth it :)
“My 2nd Home”
My family and I which consists of my husband, my 2year old daughter and myself stood in Barcelo Puerto Plata for 2 weeks. It was awesome, we went to a couple of excursions and participated in nearly every night show. I enjoyed the shows and the animators effort in making everyoe enjoy their stay with pool games and night shows. We had to change from our first room because it was extremely small and a bit dirty, they changed us to another room and it had the king bed but then the fan did not work and the AC was weak. We didnt really care because we would literally only go in to sleep and by that time the nite was cool and after a nice cold shower we were fresh. All i can say is tips tips tips, sheesh i think we wasted more in tips then in anything else. Overall I enjoyed the vacation, other reviews mention locals invasion on weekends and that is correct an entire stampede of locals come to the resort in groups of like 30 but its all goodie. love barceloooo planning a vaca to the one in punta cana
“great deal for the money”
A great place to stay. You can see it is owned and operated by a professional entity. all areas of a travelers concernes are attented. Always stay there when i travel to this country. Never dissappointed.
“Had a great time.”
Hotel is very nice lots of locals go there but it felt very traditional. Food was great and traditional. My cousin stayed for a day and booking there stay was very easy and helpful. Had a great time.
“Barcelo's "Suite Club Premium" did not disappoint”
As I said, I stayed at the Suite Club Premium. I highly recommend this option. The main reason I selected this was for the in-room Wireless Hi-Speed Internet, which was very reliable. The parts that exceeded my expectations, then, were the private whirlpool, private outdoor buffet, huge rooms, and very attentive service staff designated for the Club Premium section. They were attentive and professional. Rather than take a regular room at a more expensive resort in Punta Cana, I chose a 3.5-star resort in Puerta Plata in the Barcelo Suite Club Premium, and enjoyed the first-class, priority treatment and tranquility, with the Wireless comforts of home. The other resort visitors were very friendly and considerate. There were very few drunks or situations that were socially uncomfortable. I met many return-visitors, who continually select this hotel over others that they've visited. I very much look forward to returning next year. Same time, same low expectations, same high-value vacation.
“can't wait to go back next year!!!! great hotel...!!!”
excellent hotel,great food,free drinks...staff really friendly...had a great time..
