I had to leave after one night. There were too many ants crawling on floor and wall. The hist moved me to the "upgraded" room but it had no AC and still had some ants crawling around. I guess if your expectations are really low it isn't bad. But if you are like me, that likes nice things -don't stay here
Villa Mozart is a beautiful little hotel set in a unique tropical garden! The owner and staff were extremely kind and helpful! Bedroom was clean with tasteful decor. The whole property is very well cared for with a welcoming atmosphere!
This place is amazing, love the garden, the restaurant with delicious food, love the area close to , market, other restaurants, close to beaches, the personal was friendly, place feels relaxed, safe and very clean. I really recommend this place.
This place is beautiful.i had a bungalow witch was very spacious and nice. The owner is a very nice lady, she was very helpful. The place is in a quiet location about 5 mint from a lovely beach.Wifi was a bit spoty. I recomend this place.
Bungalow beware! This room is the only one on the property that doesn’t have A/C and the windows only have screens, they don’t close. So if you’re looking for a quiet room with privacy don’t book this one. The curtains on the windows are so thin they’re see through so you cant really comfortably be in there. Also, because of this there are many mosquitos and ants that you just have to sleep with unfortunately. The staff is very friendly, but the listing should have more details regarding this particular room. The towel policy is two towels per three nights, we were surprised when they wanted to charge us extra for fresh towels. Again, the staff was very welcoming and the garden area is beautiful. The locations is also great with many places to eat, playa carizalillo at walking distance, and a tour/rental place as well. Overall the room is ok, but we were not aware of these details upon booking.
Beautiful hotel in a beautiful place! The staff was friendly and accommodating, the room was great, breakfast was delicious, and the beach is a couple minute walk down the street. The neighborhood was quiet, but had a strip of restaurants and a few bars. Great place!
Angelica made we feel welcome as soon as I arrived. She gave me the lay of the land, which proved beneficial for my whole trip. Located in a beautiful garden with patio and hammock. Gracias!
We had a small cozy room very clean,
The owner and staff were very pleasant and gave us great service. We relaxed on the hammocks
In the yard which is very beautiful. Within walking distance to the beach.
The restaurant offers great food at a very reasonable price. I wholeheartedly recommend this place

not the best service when it comes to being honest
We were told we had free breakfast and to come into the restaurant (We we’re leaving to go to meet a friend for breakfast) and then immediately afterwards we were told we had to pay as they made a mistake this was after being checked into the wrong room the day before
I messaged the manager about my concerns and heard nothing back
What a find! I could not have been more pleased by my stay in one of the comfortable and attractive little “villas”. Quiet, attractive and very well maintained.
And the garden!! Beautiful and welcoming. The best hammock I have ever relaxed in!
The breakfast was excellent, fair priced, delicious and plentiful.
Loved the margaritas at the end of the afternoon in the adorable bar.
Also, easy 5 minutes to the beach.
I strongly recommend this charming and cosy hotel .
Amazing place to stay , near the beach , 5 min from the airport , restaurant inside the place , amazing food , amazing service, room was sparkling clean and everything needed was included . i would return there anytime , its a 15/10
Friendliness of the staff was incredible. The BIG issue was that when we got there we were told that our room had been double booked. That meant we were not spending the night in our room. We had to spend the night in some else’s house. We were very disappointed and we will never go back.
Spotless rooms, beautiful garden, perfect location and closest to the best beach in Puerto Escondido.

Hola Courtney,
Gracias por su comentario, día a día nos esforzamos para que brindar un hospedaje excelente.
Esperamos pueda hospedarse nuevamente con nosotros.
Atte.
Wonderful well maintained garden with soft sand paths, hammocks and hangout areas throughout
Great Paintings and sculptures in the rooms and garden
The site is very close to Rinconada restaurants and shops but is completely quit
Rooms are new and nicely designed
Restaurant on site is very good and convenient
The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The grounds of the hotel are gorgeous, it’s basically a jungle with common areas filled with books and hammocks to relax in. Would be nice to have a/c as there was a unit installed but didn’t seem to function. The breakfast was also delicious and very affordable. We would go back for sure.
Really enjoyed my bungalow and stay. Check in staff was really nice. Close to the beach and quiet. Nice little eating area. Only recommendation I would make to the staff would to be to have better lighting at night. It's pretty dark and the bungalows are located off a secluded street. Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay and plan to return!
I stayed for 6 nights and found it to be the most relaxing place ever!
Beautiful gardens, close to the beach and restaurants.
It was the staff that made it special, they were just the best.
I will be back soon!
The staff was absolutely friendly and wonderful. The morning breakfast was always delicious and presented well. It was a 5 minute walk, with steep stairs, to a delightful beach and bay to swim. Good restaurants next door and a quick taxi ride to the surfing beach and tourist area. The bungalow didn't have air conditioning but there was a ceiling fan so it was not too hot at night. The garden area was charming even though there is not a pool to sit by. I would stay here again.
The room was spacious and comfortable. The ceiling fan provided ample cooling for my taste. One room has a good fridge. Space is limited here-3 rooms, I think, and only 2 are really desirable. The hostesses are extremely nice and accommodating; the breakfast, which apparently is locally known, is excellent.
Best breakfast in Puerto, great staff and close to beaches. No air conditioning could be a problem. Very quite area of Puerto . Walking distance to many cafes etc
Coming in, I knew there would be no AC. I thought that I could tolerate this since I stayed on the beach in the Philippines without AC. But this is different. That building was a hut made of bamboo and this one was a concrete building. The building absorbs a lot of heat and remains hot throughout the night. The fan is strong, but without AC and a room that probably hovers around 32 C you will be very hot. I think for the price I paid, they should provide it.
Otherwise the room is clean and very close to shops and good restaurants. The fabulous beach is a short walk. I would also have liked curtains for the shower because water gets everywhere, and a small fridge for each room or at least one large fridge for all the guests.
While this is in a great location, the rooms/property itself are in need of some upkeep. Lots of light bulbs that were out, leaky toilet, broken furniture, etc. Just some general, pretty obvious repairs that would have made our stay more comfortable and pleasant. I can't imagine owning a hotel, seeing these basic problems and not fixing them immediately... Really seemed like no one cared. The gardens and staff are lovely but the room (one of the suites) was a little dark and depressing. Not a huge deal because you're a block away from one of the best beaches in Mexico so you'll probably be spending most of your time there.

Simple and Pretty Hotel Next to the Beach
The hotel grounds are beautiful, with sculptures and plants everywhere. Our room was clean and nice, although the pretty stone shower attempted to exist without a shower curtain and the whole bathroom would get wet. There are fans but not AC so it would often get very hot. The women running the hotel were extremely helpful and patient, however, everyone disappeared after late afternoon and we couldn't ask anyone for dinner recommendations, etc.
Acacia the girl in charge of the place , was the nicest and sweetest person that we've ever run to when away on vacation. She made us feel completely at home. We would come back and stay here at Villa Mozart and Macondo just to visit and say hi to Acacia. The grounds of the hotel were very accomodating, the only bad thing that i found about the place was not having a/c in the room besides that everything was excellent. Having a cup or two cups of coffee in the morning with toast with either strawberry or guava jelly on the side at their restaurant was to die for. They always kept the room clean everyday. We have no complaints at all from this place. And if you happen to stay here pelase tell Acacia her friends from Las Vegas said hello !
Close to the best beach and surrounded by great food. room was clean, kinda felt like you were staying at a friends house. No a/c, but had a strong fan that made the heat bearable. Staff spoke zero English...so wasn't able to take advantage of the free breakfast...but if u want a cheap place to stay with the bare necessities, it's a good choice.
The room, which was actually an apartment with kitchen and 2 balconies, was basic but fine. The best thing was the lovely garden, where we had breakfast in. Nice to hang out there.
Also the hotel staff was really friendly and helpful.
Comfortable with delicious, freshly cooked Mexican - but not large - breakfasts. Quirky artwork throughout. Extremely helpful staff. Amazing location right in the heart of the colonial city but with rooms around a quiet courtyard so no noise disturbance. Highly recommended.

This hotel is well situated in the suburb of Carrisilillo. While it needs a bit of maintenance, it was spacious and had necessary implements in the kitchen. A very good value for the price.
Villa Mozart y Macondo is a 7-unit hotel just two short blocks from the stairs to Carrizalillo beach, perhaps the best beach in Puerto Escondido. I rented through Expedia. The price was good and I had no problems with the reservation. The rate included breakfast of toast, jam and coffee each morning, with several larger and good breakfasts available for 80 pesos more. We stayed in room # 4, ground level, with a king size bed. There is adequate water pressure and hot water. The room opens to the garden and also through a short corridor to the Rinconada, where there are many good restaurants. Taxis are plentiful. There was no air conditioning so the room was warm in the evening, but the overhead fan helped and it cooled off in a few hours. The hotel seemed quiet and we liked all of the staff we met.
This hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood near restaurants, small shops and Playa Carrizalillo. The taxi took us to the back door on Benito Juarez, which we were able to use after we checked in, but the front entrance is actually on Av. Las Tortugas. The breakfasts included with the room are mainly toast and coffee, however, we purchased full breakfasts at a good price.
we rented the bungalow for 5 days and we had a very pleasant experience. The bungalow is a nice option for a longer stay. I found Puerto Escondido can be quite noisy at night (we were there in mid-December) so bring your ear plugs.
All staff were very nice and resourceful. Best Regards.
Quiet place for people who likes art.
Near to beautiful and small Carrizalillo beach. But take in account the access to the beach is by long stairs.
The only problem, there was no wifi in my room.
From the moment you walk into the dirt and sand,no lobby, into a storage room and through to your room, you know this was a mistake.ants in the room, smells bad,no tv,no air.this place is worth 5 dollars a night.not close to the beach
