This has got to be one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at. The views are incredible, the breakfast buffet is amazing and most of all the staff are one of the nicest people you’ll meet. They go above and beyond to make sure you’re well taken care of. Truly a 5 star experience and we’ll be sure to come back here in the future without a doubt.

This property was a paradise. It was set apart from downtown, in between two incredibly beautiful beaches! The staff was so accommodating, always ready to help us. The food was wonderful! We would definitely go back!

Spectacular setting and a lovely room overlooking the ocean. Staff was very professional and attentive. My only comment would be that they should have a pool as the public beach is very windy and the hotel does not have it's own beach

Spectacular location and ocean views

I liked the setting, attention to detail, room quality, staff helpfulness, michelin restaurant. The air conditioning repair noise during the day, but I don’t know how you avoid that if the work needs to be done. Stay was exceptional, best of a two week trip.

This historic and majestic hotel stands on the coast of Cascais, Portugal. It's elegantly decorated with comfortable rooms. The hotel is in between two gorgeous white sand beaches and is a short ride to the quaint city of Cascais, which has great restaurants, shopping and a jazz club. The downside is that the hotel's WiFi is weak and inconsistent.

The staff was so friendly and accommodating! The beaches on both sides of the hotel were lovely. Really enjoyed the dune walk across the street and taking the complimentary bikes on the bike path. Fantastic food, bountiful included breakfast, interesting architecture (former 17th century fortress), helpful concierge, gorgeous views. Highly recommend this property!

It's a perfect place for a quiet get away by the ocean and you're a short taxi ride from downtown Cascais and only about 30 mins from Lisboa. I like to spend the days in the city but a quiet oasis to come home to is really nice.

Hotel Fortoleza has a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean and the numerous nearby beaches. From our room, we could see the Cabo da Roca (the most western point in mainland Europe.) The dining rooms all have fabulous views of the beach and we enjoyed some spectacular views watching the fog roll in, glorious sunsets, and dozens of kite surfers. Most importantly, the staff is very helpful and eager to make your stay pleasant. Be aware that the location is quite remote, but there are buses into Cascais and Sintra. We will return.

The location and views are spectacular overlooking the Atlantic's rolling, surfing waves and beautiful beaches. Also close to sea and nature drives as well as Sintra and Cascais. The included breakfast was excellent and served at the sea view tables. All meals were of a very high quality. The only downside was the quality of the room. It was drab and old fashioned and needed upgrading. Upgrading is going on in a number of the rooms already so presumably this is a post Covid syndrome.

Amazing location, and site. The views are stunning.Staff was welcoming and very willing to help. The disappointing part for us was the bed (very hard) and uncomfortable pillows, it definitely impacted our stay. There was also some mold in the bathroom in the hand shower; while the bathroom amenities were nice it lacked basic hair conditioning. Breakfast quality was impeccable, served in a beautiful dining room but it was a shame they were vaccuming while we were eating. It is a beautiful place that just needs a few updates.

From the moment I arrived to the farewell I received, staying at here was a great experience. Iris, Antonio, Thomas in the dining room, Chef Gil everyone else who I forget to mention made this solo stay in one of the most beautiful corners of the world a pleasure. I cannot say how much character this hotel has and it lives up to the Relais standards exceptionally well. The dining room absolutely deserves at least on more Michelin star and if you are looking for a wonderful stay at the beach no matter what time of year this is the place to come..

Beautiful Hotel. The Fortaleza staff try to meet your every need. Food very good. BUT, the bed was very hard. It has a 1.5 inch mattress over a box spring. I had sleep atop two pillows because it hurt my hips.

Reception from the time we arrived was impeccable even we arrived 5 hours early. They provided us with free bikes to see the area while waiting for our room. We can’t say enough about how amazing we were treated by the staff during our 4 day stay. Food is very good. The property itself has spectacular views of the Cascais beaches for surfing and kite boarding!!!!!!
