“Very impressed”
...beautiful grounds; very accommodating staff
“Perfect weekend gateway in Potomac, MD area...”
Beautiful, excellent and true leisure.
“Great choice for DC stay”
Only downside was it was a small room, but great hotel "campus" complete with trails, gym and pool, restaurants
“My favorite place to stay in DC”
Even though the hotel was without electricity due to a tornado that had gone through the DC area, knocking out electricity to tens of thousands of customers 2 hours before we arrived, the staff was more than professional, helpful, and apologetic. The electricity was out for nearly 2 days, but they did a fantastic job of keeping everything running as smoothly as possible. I have stayed at Bolger many times and will continue to do so in the future. It's a clean, comfortable, quiet place to stay, with all of the amenities you need. Best of all, it has a welcoming, friendly staff. The grounds are lovely and expansive, and I think that families with children would find this especially important--it gives kids a place to play and burn off some steam when they need it. One point to consider: It certainly is more convenient when you have a car, so travelers thinking of booking a room should keep this factor in mind--it is not a downtown DC hotel (though all of the area's attractions are a quick drive away, as is the Metro, if you don't want to drive), but that works in its favor for me!
“Superb Service, Comfortable and Easy”
I had to make a quick business trip to the D.C. area and hooked up with one of Expedia's packages and chose the Bolger as my lodging choice. Some reviews I read were not favorable, and I was a bit apprehensive, but from the moment I arrived, I knew that this was a class place to stay. The front desk was as friendly and professional a staff as I've ever encountered. Most of my front desk experiences, even in so called 4 and 5 star hotels, is usually indifferent at best. These young men and women were impressive, and so much of travel is about feeling welcome; they did it beautifully. The room was great, plenty of room, clean, crisp sheets, good bathroom. The only complaint is that the TVs are old school and there is reception problems on some stations, but when you have 100s of acres of walking trails, a pool, a full fitness facility, a great bar with pool tables, two restaurants, really what do a few channels mean. The internet connection was perfect (and free!), the breakfast buffet was served with the same great, friendly service and the food sparkled. I would recommend it highly. Great price, great service, very good place to stay.
“Would definitely stay again!!!”
It was so nice to go to our hotel after a long day in D.C. It was nestled in the middle of a beautiful high class neighborhood so it was quiet and safe. The room was well maintained and clean. My husband, six year old son and I stayed in the suite with two queen beds. We finally tried the pool our last night there at close to 9pm. It was large and clean but it was a little creepy how the "lifeguard" practically stared at my son and I the whole time we swam. My husband was even a little disturbed but we knew he had a job to do and we were the only ones swimming. We never tried the food but walked past the stone ovens cooking pizzas and they smelled great. Bethesda was a nice town to walk at night and find food.
“Great Hotel for Congressional Country Club”
I stayed at the Bolger for a night while I was attending the US Open at Congressional. Staff was very friendly and helpful, room and hotel in general was very clean, looked new. Room was very small, but efficient - sort of European size but with American style and comfort. I arrived after 11pm and the kitchen in the bar had closed but the pub manager opened the kitchen back up and I was able to get something to eat. Definitely made my stay enjoyable. If you are going anywhere near Congressional Country Club, I strongly recommend Bolger. If planning on going to DC, this is not a good choice - you are in the middle of nowhere relative to DC.
“I will definitely go back and stay with the Bolger Hotel & Conference Center.”
Extremely satisfied with the hotel, i felt like i was in Windsor Castle, United Kingdom when i first arrive at the gate. My hats off to the front desk and lost and found for locating my dress shoes and mailing them to my residence.
“This hotel is hidden gem!!”
This hotel has a wonderful location with beautiful landscaping and a friendly and helpful staff. The room was well appointed, though you may want a larger space with a second person. The food was good and plentiful. The hotel is actuall on Democracy Blvd with easy access to Beltway, NIH and DC. It is a place I will use in thr future.
“A Nice Place to Stay for a Weekend Gateawat”
My husband and I travelled down from NY to MD to attend a friend's celebration. We just wanted a clean and nice place to stay for the long weekend. We took a chance at the Bolger and it was perfect. Clean, clean and clean. We went downstairs for a wonderful buffet breakfast and then that evening to the bar for a drink. It was very relaxing. It met our needs perfectly and the staff was always pleasant.
