“Porto Palace”
The hotel itself is a marvel! The architecture is beautiful and interesting, but most impressive is the way the designers have handled the renovation of the Palace. The integration of old & new design has been done beautifully. The fabrics, lighting, furniture, art work etc. have all been done in a stunning fashion. I almost didn't know where to look first! The restaurant is also quite lovely...extremely interesting food offerings with delightful & unique flavor combinations. Bravo to the Pousada do Porto for a job very well done!!!
“great place in porto”

“As close to perfect as you can get”
As an experience, this is possibly the best hotel I have ever enjoyed staying in. The main building is stunning, the rooms very comfortable and the gardens, pool and gym etc all immaculate and quiet. Dinner was superb and overall we were extremely impressed with the value of everything. More than anything though we were struck by the fantastic level of service from every staff member - particularly the front of house. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The rooms are modern and very comfortable. The staff is excellent The food is superb. I highly recommend this hotel. Be careful when taking a taxi from the airport . The ride in cost 30 E whereas the ride out cost $20 E.

“One of Portos Distinguished Hotels”
Albeit the hotel isn't in the hub of Porto, in no way did this detract from our very pleasant two night stay at the "Palácio do Freixo Campanhã" which we would undoubtedly recommend. We enjoyed the food served at the hotel restaurant which was super value and the staff were particularly pleasant and Professional. Thank you for a wonderful stay..........

“Hidden Gem in Northern Portugal - the Pousada do Porto - Palácio do Freixo Campanhã”
What a find. And how cool that this boutique pousada chain is renovating old palaces and turning them into amazing places to stay. This one - on the river and just outside Porto - could not have been more pleasant and interesting. If you are into exploring your digs, you'll enjoy this one. We had a large corner room with a view and the large, beautiful bathroom. I took a lot of pictures, ,and my companion - an architect - was sketching the details throghout the hotel and on the grounds. Very inspiring. Excellent lunch and dinner. Our breakfast was included, and it was immense. Have the cheese plate and a glass of porto before or after dinner. The zen pool/spa was ideal. Porto is a hilly city, and I made good use of the pool at the end of the day. I usually had it to myself since we were there in the very mild Portuguese winter. Highly recommended hotel, and I'm generally a very critical guest. A nice surprise!
“Comfortable historic place to stay in Oporto”
While the hotel is not in the center of the city, it is a short (EUR 5) ride away. I was there in winter but thought it must be a great place to stay in summer: the hotel is situated right on the river bank with great views of the river, bridges and port cellars on the other side; there is an outdoor pool with a tented cabana on the water and an adjustent bar, all overlooking the restored palace. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, staff is working hard to make your stay pleasant. I have only one somewhat negative comment on service. We had to leave early to catch a morning train and tried to have breakfast at the hotel 15-20 minutes before the official opening time of 7:30am. Unfortunately, we found out that the staff was only starting to set up breakfast buffet: there was nothing on the tables except a few rolls. I can not imagine that the full breakfast buffet was available by 7:30am on that day!
“Porto”
This hotel is a renovated palace with a great lobby area mirrors, murals, and reliefs. The rooms are in a old flour mill which adds to the charm. The location on the river is very soothing after a day in town sightseeing. The taxi ride from the hotel to town averaged about $10 each way. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The restaurant served delicious meals. A very pleasant experience in all respects.
