“A very good place, if not actually a prime central location”

Beautiful furnishings, great service, very clean, great breakfast. If you are looking for a place in the central part of tourist Porto though, this is definitely not it. They will tell you it's only 20 minutes from the 'historic center' -- by that they mean the big plaza with the municipal building - it's actually a good 30-40 minute walk from the river (and that's all uphill coming back! ) which is where most tourists coming to Porto to try the ports will want to be. ... That said, it's very accessible by metro which is very easy, and we liked the walk, and it was otherwise a great hotel and a very pleasant stay all around (though they should have a safe in the room).
