“Loved it!”
Had a great time! The rooms are beautiful and the service was wonderful! Thank you!
“Down Town's Finest”
Ill start this off by saying this hotels location is amazing! right next to pioneer square you are really in the heart of downtown. We loved being able to walk a few steps to pioneer place and shop. We also had access to two really cool restaurants in the hotel. The room itself was really pretty, a little small but not bad for downtown. Try and get a room with a view of the city, our room had a view of the lobby as the inner rooms look over the urban farmer restaurant and rest of the 8th floor lobby. My ony gripe was the carpet looked a little beat up but other than that really nice room. The service we received upon check in was amazing (thanks Michelle). I cant sleep with comforters or with down pillows so they immediately brought up a foam pillow and blanket. Any request we had was met with a sense of urgency and politeness. The valets were great. It does cost $40 a day but is worth it if you plan on leaving the city center often. We went on a few tours and visited family. We only had one sore spot in regards to a call to the front desk. The agent treated us like trash when we asked about charges on our credit card. Hotel dealt with it. That being said a service is still overfriendly and accomidating. The Urban Farmer restaurant and Departure were both really fun. Urban Farmers food was amazing and the bar has a fun cocktail menu and great spirits and wine selection. The view at departure was also a high point, patio on the 15th floor. Check em out:)
“A Weekend Without Natural Light”
The windows of our room looked down into the interior part of the hotel. It was an atrium room with no outside view and consequently no natural light. For us it was quite stifling and actually a little suffocating. We immediately asked for a room change but the hotel could not offer that. For us, as travelers, natural light is pertinent for all the physiological adjustments that shifting locales requires. On the plus side, the hotel has a restaurant bar on the 15th floor with outdoor decks and heaters overlooking Portland. This is a fantastic place to have evening drinks and appetizers and meet terrific people. The bar is called Departures and we do recommend that.
“GREAT”
We had a wonderful time at The Nines. Great room, delicious food at the Urban Farmer and thru room service. Will definitely will return.
“Nice, Comfortable Accomodations, but Pricey Food and Service”
This hotel was very nice. The beds were comfortable. The furnishings were new. There was no coffee maker, refrigerator, or microwave provided. And, the room was extremely small. Additionally, all of the on-site restaurants and bars were extremely overpriced and expensive based on what was served. The location was good as it was right in the heart of downtown. The hotel is fairly new, built in 2008 and is located in a historical building.
“Portland's best.”
Great hotel, conveniently located across from Pioneer Square and public transit.. We were able to take Max from the airport directly to our hotel which was less than half hour. Great room; price included access to lounge on 12th floor which offered breakfast and snacks throughout the day.
“Loved it”
Everything about it was great. The consierges were wonderful. A friend recommend it and she was right on
“To-The-Nines! All the way!”
My husband and I have been to many luxury hotel properties. This property makes it to our favorite top 2 hotels thus far. Decor is great, everything is luxurious. I enjoyed the little details they paid attention to. Turndown service comes with bottled water and chocolate truffles, and they turn on the soothing music...they even leave a little note that states "sweet dreams"! If you can shell out the cash...request for a city view versus the atrium view. The Urban Farmer restaruant on the 8th floor had DELICIOUS food. I don't usually endorse hotel restaurants....but this restaurant had quality food! Ingredients were very fresh. Our hotel stay was very pleasant. Portland was a wonderful city! Loved, loved, loved it! We will stay at this hotel again the next time we visit Portland.
“Understated Elegance”
Just a nice quiet quality place to stay. Very tasteful, clean, and not pretentious at all. I did not try the restaurants. Very convenient location.
“Would stay again - No Question!”
I went to Portland for a weekedn trip and stayed at the Nines for 2 nights, here is my take on the Nines Hotel; Location: This hotel is righ smack in the middle of Downtown Portland right across from Pioneer Courthouse. It is one block from the Max train that comes from the Airport (we took this $2.40) and even closer to all the other max lines. This was extremely important to ussince we were not renting a car. Staff: We had excellent service throught our 3 day stay. From the door men, registration, restaurant and housekeeping staff. This hotel is known as being one of the nicest hotels is all of downtown Portland so I was surprised how nice the staff was, not pretencious whatsoever -yet still providing excellent service. Rooms: We had a 2 queen bed room, it was very spacious, clean and decorated nicely. Large flat screen Tv and desk and sitting area. The bathroom was clean, nicely decorated, had a nice vanity and came with bath robes. There was a turn down service every night with waters and little chocolates. Food: We ate and drank at both resturants. We happened to be at both of them during "happy hour" so that was nice. Food was great at both. However Departure is more like a club than a restaurant on saturday night so if thats not your thing avoid it on saturdays. Overall, great place to stay in Portland if you can get a deal or afford to stay. Hope this help!
