“Amazing place right downtown!”

TOP QUALITY HOTEL!! Definitely a 5 Star! Unbelievable rooms, excellent location, and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Rooms are very nice, extremely clean. You can't go wrong with this hotel. Worth every penny!

“love the Benson”

We love the character and location of the Benson. We could walk to many of our favorite places in downtown Portland. Our room was quiet even though it was near the elevator, and very nicely appointed. Staff was helpful and professional. Will definitely stay again if we get a great room rate like we did this time!

“Superb value in a centrally-located hotel!”

The lobby alone warrants a stay! This is an old-style hotel that offers all the conveniences of one that is 100 years newer. The restaurant shines as one of Portland's best.

“Lots of character”

Great old building with a lot of character, a little worn in some places, but lovely none the less. Room was clean, nice TV, beds were more comfortable than a lot of hotels, bathroom was small. Doormen and front desk staff were great with my kid- charming, helpful and funny.

“You'll Never Want To Leave”

The moment I walked into this hotel I knew it was going to be a wonderful place and when I saw my room, I knew I wouldn't want to leave. This is truly the most wonderful hotel to stay in as it oozes the Portland charm of the Pacific NW with such gorgeous surroundings. The cherrywood, the lighting and decor. The El Gaucho Bar/Restaurant downstairs and that London Grille Sunday Brunch is not to be missed. Do not forget to ask for a Benson robe that is like no other, made out of bamboo and the softest robe you'll ever wear. People were fabulous. If planning a trip to Portland this is the place to stay.

Everyone at this hotel was helpful. And a bonus: I lived on room service for a day (flu). The food came quickly and it was very good.

The staff at the Benson is amazing. From the front desk to the consierge, they all went out of their way to make our stay fantastic. The lobby is awesome, very well maintanted turn-of-the-century luxury. The rooms are not huge, but very comfortable. We will definitely stay at the Benson if we visit Portland again. My only suggestion is to eat elsewhere. Breakfast was not good, and certainly not worth the price. Fortunately, there are several Starbucks close by, as well as the Portland icon Voodoo donuts.

Wow. From the courteous bellmen at the door to the friendly and helpful front desk staff...we felt like we were staying with friends. The lobby is amazing with the rich wood details, ornate carpet, chandeliers, and warm inviting fireplace. Our room was perfect. Clean and secure. We can't wait to stay here again!
