“My third stay here!”
Love this hotel! Some rooms have a really good view of the Columbia River. There are tennis courts, a gym and a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. I didn't utilize the restaurant's room service, but maybe next time. The suites are roomy and quite comfortable and the decor is modern and classy. I'm grateful for the microwave, fridge and wi-fi. Three musts on my list. The staff here is great and very accommodating. I did have a few problems on this last trip. My non-smoking room smelled like cigarettes and I had to change rooms. Also, there was a problem in the room directly across from me and maintenace was working on the toilet for hours. There may have been some sort of leak because they cleaned the hallway carpet in my wing for a few hours. Pretty loud but I guess there could have been worse problems.
“Great weekend”
We decided to stay here since downtown Portland hotels all have expensive parking for daily rates. It turned out to be very easy to drive to downtown from the Red Lion since it is just next to the freeway & close to downtown. We paid for a regular room, but were upgraded to a river view suite! The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and breakfast was delicious (a little pricey though).
“Perfect place to stay in Portland area”
By far the nicest Red Lion we have stayed at. Great value, large updated rooms, nice staff. We were there for a conference and had plenty of room, not claustrophobic like other places. Great location near everything including restaurants. The shuttle driver was so nice and offered to drive us to dinner. Overall, a fantastic stay. We will go back.
“Close to downtown Portland, yet on the river”
A good option if you don't want to stay right in downtown Portland. You are less than a 10 minute drive to the Pearl District, OMSI, and the Rose Garden. Beautiful location on the river.
“A great place to stay in Portland”
Located right on the Columbia River with the huge old bridge just to its left, the Red Lion has a wonderfully scenic location. It's a classic 1960's structure that has been totally refurbished. The room we stayed in was one of the nicest we've had, and we travel quite a lot. The restaurant, Shenanigan's, is very good, with a drop-dead view and a seasonal deck out front. With over 300 rooms, the place is very busy, and is service and a well-trained staff is important to you, this is the hotel's main shortcoming. But we will definitely go back again, especially if they continue to have promotional rates.
“Repeat Stay”
We stayed at the Red Lion Inn Jantzen Beach a couple of months ago and decided to stay here again for this conference.
“Great place for the price”
Clean, comfortable, courteous.
“Great stay”
Very clean
“I Would Go Back”
Beautiful view of Columbia river, Mt. Hood, & Mt. St. Helens. Not downtown, but near enough with a hop on the freeway. Hotel staff extremely hospitable. Room clean and very comfy.
