“Would stay here again”

Got a super cheap Expedia deal during our August 2010 visit (mini family shopping holiday with our 2 teenagers) so expectations weren't high. Was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel was perfectly fine for our needs. Swimming pool didn't look very inviting and the smell of chlorine wafted into the lobby but that wasn't a factor in our stay. We only wanted a quiet, clean, comfortable room to sleep in and that is what we got. There were no issues with the service - we always got fresh towels every day and the beds were always made and staff were friendly and polite. Breakfast was basic and wasn't great especially if you arrived late like we did but considering what our stay cost, wasn't a big deal. There was Subway across the parking lot and a MacDonald's a few blocks down the road. Location really is an industrial park seemingly in the middle of nowhere but still conveniently located to downtown and major Portland attractions. I think it's because the road the hotel is on takes you straight to whichever major highway you need to get on.

“very good”

aside from the initial confusion about the hotel rooms and that our card key did not work on our 2nd day, everything else was excellent. I would highly recommend tje place because it is so close to downtown Portland and not far from the outlet malls.

“A pleasant stay and value”

Overall, the experience was great. Our family loved the addition of the pool and that breakfast was included. Only downside was as first time visitors to Portland, the location was a little out of the way. It is listed as Nob Hill area and while this geographically is true. It is some distance to the hub of shops and restaurants of this area. We stayed at other hotels on this trip and both my sons rate this as their fave. When asking staff questions about taxis and costs to other locations- they were not overly concerned with providing guidance or input.

“good value”

yes, the area is industrial. But clean and well kept. The pool and spa are really top notch. You must have a car or find a bus to get fooed; otherwise it is only subs next door. But quit cheap for a big city. Spend your $$ on restaurants downtown. Highly recommended= the rose garden in the park. free.

“Great deal, clean, new hotel, far from anything”

This was a brand new hotel that was clean, friendly and had a nice pool and hottub. The continental breakfast included make-your own waffles and fruit and yogurt. The hotel was about 3 miles from the train station and downtown which ends up as about 12$ to cab with tip. The bus is an easy option for weekdays. The hotel is in an industrial area of the city but is across from a convenience store with a Subway in it. Other than that there is not much close by that you can walk to.

“Okay if you get a cheap rate.”

Room itself was nice, but was located near the ice machine which was very loud and seemed to be in use all night. Staff were difficult to get a hold of and unhelpful. Couldn't call a cab from the room (something wrong with the phone) and staff were unavailable to call for us. There is nothing near by, it is located in an industrial park and it was a long wait for a taxi into town. Rate was reasonable, but will probably stay closer to downtown next time.

“Okay for a one night stop-over”

This hotel was just okay. One plus was the available parking for oversize vehicles. The hotel had a feeling of being a bit run down. Our room was missing the safety lock which I was somewhat uncomfortable with. The night we were there it was a bit cool so we turned on the heater and it stunk up the room so bad we had to shut it off. Other than that the staff was friendly and they offered a complimentary breakfast which was decent.
