I had been recommended this hotel from a friend. Saw a deal on expedia and decided to try it out. Loved it from the moment we walked in the door. Very modern, clean. Room was spacious and a suite to boot. I wasn't expecting that but fully stocked with all cooking equipment you would need although I don't know of anyone who would visit Portland and cook dinner in a hotel room with all the incredible dining options there are. Nice big king bed, super comfy with lots of pillows. Bonus for a 7 month pregnant lady! Sitting area was nice and comfortable as well. 2 flat screen TVs which I thought was a bit excessive, but nice none the less.
Breakfast is included but as a celiac, this left much to be desired. Lots of bagels, muffins, etc.
Huge glass containers of starbursts and taffy throughout and as much coffee available at all times of day you desire. Oh, and a Kurieg in the room.
Location is great, walkable to 23rd which has great shops. Also close to Salt and Straw!
Overall, a great place to stay!

We loved our stay! The hotel front desk was extremely helpful in planning our visit and the staff was all friendly and helpful. Our room was charming and comfortable and we didn't want to leave! Great for a romantic get away.

We spent a holiday weekend at the Heathman, sightseeing, shopping, and taking in a show. Staff was invariably helpful, room was well-appointed and clean. My wife didn't care for the (intentional, presumably) low light levels in corridors and room, but it gave the place a certain atmosphere. Restaurant was really good, the waitstaff solicitous and friendly. Only thing we didn't care for was the television service, which was inconvenient to use, has mostly non-digital signals, and seemed focused on revenue-maximization, which was out of sync with the rest of our experience there. All in all, highly recommended.
