“Quirky decor, but a great hotel.”
Quirky decor, great wine happy hour & comfy beds. The hotel is well located, not far to the shops! The free bikes are worth a try too if your inclined. Our room was t ready on arrival but it was Spring break & it is a popular hotel due to its great reviews. I would definately stay again!
“wonderful hotel”
A wonderful hotel nestled in downtown. The staff made us feel at home and this friendly atmosphere carries over into the complementary wine and beer happy hour. The room was large, impeccably clean, and beautifully styled. The hotel has a great 24hr gym and complimentary bike rentals. Overall a great unpretentious and understated hotel. 5/5
“Great hotel - excellent service!”
One night stay that will be well remembered. We enjoyed staying there immensely and will be back next time we're in Portland.
“Great hotel in downtown area”
Great place to stay . Staff very helpful, dining very good and made to feel very welcome.
“Highly recommend this hotel”

“Terrific howl in downtown Portland”
The Hotel Monaco Portland was terrific. The room was large, decor modern and funk, and the upkeep by housecleaning was excellent. The staff at the front desk, bell, and valet was excellent. Several times I asked for advice on where to go in Portland for a drink or dinner and the staff was well informed and eager to give proper advice to better my stay. It was really nice that the parking and valet was downstairs and underground. With the amount of precipitation Portland gets, this is a real plus. The were only a coule negatives. First, it would have been nice to have slippers provided in the suite. The robes provided were fantastic and absolutely appreciated. Second, the refreshment centre was well stocked but really quite ridiculously expensive. Following this, I stayed at the Nines and the mini seemed rather inexpensive compared to the Monaco. Third, the tv reception in the main sitting area of my suite had a rather poor satellite signal. Finally, this is a dog friendly hotel. There are a lot around and you have to be comfortable riding in elevators with some rather large dogs. Overall, great hotel, and my complaints are minor.
“Best staff, from the doorman, to yoga intructor!”
The staff made a special effort to make our stay special. The Happy Hour was something we looked forward to eventhough we don't drink wine, but it was the live piano music, the friendly atmosphere, and the artists station (for hotel guests who feel like whipping up a masterpiece). Would definitely recommend it and return in the future.
“A gem of a hotel in a gem of a city.”
Central location, some character to the hotel, and great service.
“Overall great experience”
All around, this hotel was great and everything we expected. Some of the friendliest hotel staff I have ever encountered, a spotless, comfortable room with great amenities, and wine hour! The dog-friendly atmosphere was a great bonus. Would definitely recommend.
“Extremely comfy”
Highly recommend this hotel would come back without hesitation. Even the staff at the in house restaurant were great as was the food.
