Incredible! Without a doubt this hotel was the most amazing place we stayed during our two months in Portugal and Spain. It is located 10-12 minutes from downtown Elvas and is located all alone out in the countryside. Very quiet if you don’t mind chickens, donkeys and sheep but absolutely zero city noise. Our price was one half to one third what we would have paid to stay in Elvas (€49/ night for two nights in the middle of the week including breakfast) and the room was quite large. It’s fun to wander through the grounds outside into the lemon grove, the orange trees, and multiple walkways. Hardly anyone else was here during our stay and the staff was quite helpful. The entire facility is quite large with a covered wedding area, swimming pool, tennis court, and multiple marble statues but much of this was not being used during our stay most likely because it was too early in the season. If you are going to be in the Elvas area and don’t need to stay right in the city, I would strongly recommend that you stay here. You won’t be disappointed and will be pleasantly surprised.

TRANQUILITY
Excellent service from all members of staff. Exceptionally quiet and peaceful. Has a faded elegance which we liked. More character than a modern hotel. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

I really wanted to rate this hotel a five but couldn't. The estate is stunningly beautiful with impressive gardens, a fish pond, period furniture and plenty of grace. It is obvious that the people who work there love the place but I can imagine that the upkeep is extremely costly. When you first come up the stairs there is a sweet smell in the hallways that is a bit overwhelming. Try to get past this as it does not continue into the rooms. We had a beautiful room with a balcony. It was clean and furnished with art deco furniture. The bed was very lumpy and squeaky but surprisingly comfortable. The dining room was pleasant if somewhat dated. We chose to have dinner at te hotel that night and it was superb!!! Our waiter was friendly and explained the menu items to us but obviously was not very experienced as a waiter. It was off-season and I imagine there was limited staff. With some spit and polish and attention to esthetics this resort could rival any country guest house anywhere!

Terrific atmosphere. Beautiful tranquil surroundings however this was our second time staying here on route to the Algarve and overall you could see the upkeep has deteriorated a little. This would not stop us staying there next time we travel. The location is quaint and unique. Most of the staff speak English and are very welcoming.

Awesome staff and great breakfast

Quinta of Sto António is plenty of history.We can walk among the trees, lakes, statues, flowers, animals. Bed very large.Excellent breakfast, The nice Elvas just a 4 kms;Spain may be 7Kms We will repeat, for sure

Best place to relax
We were on a road trip across Portugal and stopped here as it was near many places of interest. When we arrived we couldn't believe the beauty of this place it is cut off about 7miles away from Elvas and it seems to have a private road just for this magnificent villa. The room we were given was really large with a really comfortable bed and fully equipped. We also had a door which led to the garden with a table and chairs. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for peace tranquillity and nature. The setting is like going back in time with a touch of modern, I would say it is just the perfect combination! I will definitely go back :)

If you want to step back in time and experience a true Portugese country atmosphere this renovated farm house and its location are hard to beat. The room was very large with a view overlooking manicured gardens and the décor was reminiscent of the 1800's with dark woods and deep color tones offering a sense of past elegance. The house and grounds were open to wander and were well worth the exploration and relaxation. The in-house dining was outstanding for lunch and dinner and the food options for breakfast were well varied. There was little in the immediate area except nature to enjoy which made the down time worth the search (watch closely for the road signs).

The hotel was great. The only thing I would recommend is more lighting on the roads. We got there at night and since the hotel is each style, it seems really spooky. But, once you're there it's great.

Lovely place to stay near Elvas
This was my second stay at Quinta de Santo Antonio, and I was just as pleased as my first visit. Attentive, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, all in a quiet countryside setting. Will definitely be back again.

Charming Rural Hotel
Quinta de Santo Antonio is a beautiful rural hotel about 15 minutes outside of Elvas. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The gardens at the hotel are beautiful and while the hotel was not easy to find, the quiet countryside surroundings were a real plus. (I had to call the hotel to get directions the first time, as my GPS had no idea.) Fast internet access and a tasty restaurant as well. I would happily stay here again.

Wonderful tranquil location
Our stay was mid-week when the hotel was very quiet. For us this was excellent and coupled with the very tranquil surroundings made our 2 day stay very pleasant. We did not partake of any of the spa etc facilities that were on offer but the free games of pool were a nice way to spend some time in pleasant surroundings.

Peaceful night in beautiful surroundings
We couldn't fault Qinta Santa Antonio for anything. We had a very pleasant and peaceful evening in beautiful surroundings. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful in helping us deal with the bicycle delivery we received there and the luggage we were preparing for transport. We started our Alentejo bike tour after a lovely night at this hotel outside of Elvas and I would definately reccomend it!

What a surprise.
Our accommodation for the day in Elvas, this hotel was a gem. A modified large private country estate, the hotel rambles across the property,surrounded by gardens and farms that are wonderful to walk through. A bit rustic but a very comfortable place to dine and stay. Great value and a good change to the traditional hotel. A little tricky to locate with the GPS, but very straightforward when you ask for instructions.

A very beautifully decorated hotel
We arrived at the Quinta Santo Antonio late at night. The hotel is situated in a remote estate. It's very beautifully decorated and the rooms are comfortable and very pleasant. The garden in the back is also very well maintained. Unfortunately, we had to leave very early in the morning and didn't really get to enjoy the place. I imagine it would be a great place to relax if you have a few days of leisure travel. The nearby town, Elvas, looks very nice as well. We ate at a local restaurant and the food was excellent.

Es un alojamiento muy tranquilo pero que necesita de reformas. Éramos una pareja y nos dieron una habitación familiar de 4 camas con colchones algo incómodos. Las estancias comunes están muy bien y el servicio es bueno. El comedor está un poco caduco y en general necesita una reforma. Los jardines muy bonitos pero algo descuidados. Sin embargo el desayuno es excelente.

Heerlijk gelegen hotel, met een mooie tuin, zwembad en andere faciliteiten. Het ligt op 10 minuten rijden van het centrum van Elvas. Je komt hier voor de rust. Als de ezel je niet wakker roept, dan toch wel de vogels in de omgeving.
