First the bed we tried was the most uncomfortable my wife and me have ever slept on. Second the grout in bathroom floor was full of mold. Disgusting! During check in and out front desk clerk did not know her job and needed to call someone several times to get checked in and out. It took almost 30 minutes for her to get us checked in. After requesting a partial refund and then being told we would, we received nothing. Never coming back and would recommend not staying at this hellhole.

We strive to provide our guests with the highest standards of service and accommodation, and it deeply concerns us when we fail to meet these expectations.Regarding the claim of mold in your room, we take such matters very seriously. After receiving your complaint, we conducted a thorough inspection of your room and surrounding areas. I must inform you that our team found no evidence of mold or related issues. We pride ourselves on our rigorous cleaning protocols and regular maintenance checks to ensure the health and safety of our guests. It's distressing to note that the complaint, upon investigation, appears to be unfounded.In addition, I must address a discrepancy that occurred during your check-in process. Our records and front desk staff report that there were inconsistencies in the information provided at the time of your arrival, which is concerning. Honesty and transparency are values we uphold for all interactions at our hotel, and we expect the same from our guests.As previously discussed thru email and via phone conversations, Regarding your refund, (of 56.00)as your booking was made through Expedia, the refund process must be initiated and handled through their system.( completed on my end) We have communicated with Expedia about your case. Expedia representative expressed to me to have said guest contact them with information of discount you will receive.While we understand that writing a review is a personal right and a valuable source of feedback, we encourage our guests to ensure that their reviews accurately reflect their experience. False allegations can be damaging and are taken seriously.We value your patronage and genuinely hope this incident does not mar your overall perception of our hotel. The breakfast consisted of bagels and bread. That was it, the normal breakfast Mainstay was not out. The food ran out and no one was working to replace it.

Thank you for your feedback. I do apologize more breakfast was not put out, our breakfast goes from 7am-10am eastern on weekends. We offer sausage, sausage gravy, biscuits, fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels, bread, hard boiled eggs, cereal and other hot options in our marketplace.

Not a great place to stay. I had reserved three rooms of a certain type, but they only had two. They gave me a pet friendly room on the first floor that had windows that did not lock. When I said, I wanted the room I had reserved they said I had to pay extra for it. I refused, and said that is not acceptable and I want the room that I had reserved for the price I had reserved at for. The woman at the front desk called a manager, and they gave in. On another note, the breakfast is a joke, with some of the worst selections for food I’ve seen in a hotel that offers free breakfast.

Thank you for your feedback. I do apologize for failing to meet your expectations during your stay. We gave you a courtesy upgrade from the original room you had booked which was a queen room. We upgraded to a king room, and when the 2 king rooms we offered you you declined, we upgraded to a double queen room at no cost to you. We reported the window locks to maintenance and they reported back that they are in working order. We offer sausage, biscuits, gravy, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, bagels, toast and more for breakfast than what is required, which is coffee and a wrapped pastry. Again we apologize for failing to meet your expectations with your stay.

Nice folks manning the front desk. Breakfast area was very tidy and clean with usual limited continental breakfast. Room was just weird - not nearly enough light and the single light fixture in the ceiling didn't provide enough light for the shower or the sink. Impossible to shave due to low lighting levels from the only overhead light. Tiny television that couldn't be easily seen from anywhere in the room due to poor positioning.

As soon as we walked into the room a cockroach ran across the counter, then on the last night we were there the entire hotel lost power and all the way until we checked out still had no power.

Great location
Great location for port st joe and scalloping. The bed was very comfortable. Rooms were dark and quiet. Spacious and really enjoyed the full size frig and the kitchen area. Pool was nice and the breakfast suited us just fine. The property was very clean. The only suggestion would be updating some. We would definitely stay here again.

so-so facility
For the price of the room and to have no TV Service and a mediocre breakfast at best, i was very disappointed. Had stayed there before and the service was much better! The young lady at the check in counter was very nice and tried to fix the TV and /or find another room, but the TV Service in all the rooms were inoperative. Breakfast consisted of hot oatmeal and and boiled eggs and bagels!

The hotel is nice enough. It’s older and worn and our room smelled of mildew, staff was able to get us a de-humidifier. They were extremely nice. The bed was comfy.

The rooms are old and need remodeling. The room had a very moldy smell that spraying disinfectant couldn’t hide. The bathroom was a disaster. The drains were very slow, mold around the wood trim and tile and hunks of grout were missing between the tiles. The furniture in the room has seen better days. The tv was too small for the room. The maintenance guy and the front desks staff were extremely friendly and helpful but their great attitude could not overcome the deplorable conditions of the room. MainStay Suites should be embarrassed for allowing this property to deteriorate.
