“visit azores”
This hotel had two pools (one on the rooftop), staff was very helpful and spoke English well. Breakfast every morning --get there ahead of the tour buses or after they leave. Within walking distance of marina and on the route of two of the local minibus systems.
“Good enough”
If you are hiring a car and want easy and quick access to the motorway, then this is a good choice. However, from what I've seen of central Porta Delgrada, street parking isnt that much of a problem, but you need to be good with parallel parking (fine for most Europeans but Americans/Canadians may struggle parking in the central region!). Yes, as others say, the hotel is a little distance from the action in Porta Delgrada so leave yourself about 20 mins to walk in and 30 mins to walk back up the hill. However, it gives a good chance to explore the town from different angles when going in and out every night. The 8th floor grill resturant was very nice with quality and price comparable to any of the resturants in the centre of Porta Delgrada. Usually I dont eat in the hotel, but here I had 3 meals, all very nice with panaramic views of the city during sunset and virtually personal service as the resturant is quite quiet. The hotel has no character but it is relatively comfortable and very clean.
“Great Hotel”
Had a wonderful stay. Close to downtown, 20 minute walk. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Very good complimentary breakfast also.
