Originally inhabited by the Wonnarua tribe, the village of Pokolbin serves as the center of Hunter Valley's wine country. Surrounding mountains modulate the climate and protect vineyards. Excellent meals to accompany one's wine can be found at Hungerford Hill Wine Village. Meanwhile, Lindemans Hunter River Winery and Vineyards houses a collection of historic winemaking tools.
