Great view however we experience much noise, construction and the growing pains of the Grand Hyatt's first week in business. It was a disappointing experience. No ice machines working, spa not fully functional during services, staff did not know menus, no hooks in the rooms, lots of noise from construction waking you up at all hours as the construction was 247.

My boyfriend and I booked this hotel as a last minute vacation. It was absolutely amazing. Their selection of alcohol was great. Pretty much anything you could drink that wasn't very top shelf. The staff was awesome too. 24 hour room service was so convenient. The food at the restaurants, including the buffet, was the best food I have ever had at an all inclusive resort. We had a swim up room on the side away from the main pool bar, and it was so nice to be able to spend time at the main pool bar but also get away in our own private area of the pool. Any problems that we had during our stay was addressed immediately, and the staff would call to follow up to make sure that our problem was fixed. Even the room service staff would double check. I would 100% go back to this resort in a heart beat. I loved it there, and so did my boyfriend. Thanks for a great vacation, Expedia!
"amazing hotel with real 5star service in Mayakoba."
We stayed in bayan tree hotel in luxury villa with lagoon view and big pool. Pool is big and good enough to swim for adults. Room is clean in modern design. Service is great. Delicious breakfast buffet. There is big distance from lagoon view villas to the beach but hotel provides quick transportation to the beach area. There is very good kids club where kids can borrow staff to play on the beach. We loved everything about this hotel and will be decently come back. Only one problem was mosquitos but hotel gives you spray against it.
We stayed here for 2 nights before going to Tulum. The location is perfect right off of La Quinta. Close to all the restaurants, shops and the beach! The rooftop bar/pool had a great vibe and the drinks were superb. we will definitely be back.
"Beautifully designed hotel with a great atmosphere"
Literally 24 steps from the beach in one direction and 20 steps in the other for 5th avenue and all of the nagging sales people haha! Beautiful hotel had an amazing time with my girlfriend here the desk staff and the other staff were amazing. Definitely would come again and recommend Kinbe!
I've stayed at many hotels in Playa del Carmen. This one rates above average although it was not my favorite. The location is very convenient and close to all the shops, beach, gym and restaurants. There is a nice but small rooftop pool so depending on time of day, you could find yourself not being able to use it. There was also on-going construction during my stay however when I spoke with the hotel manager Yasmine, she was very understanding and tried her best to make up for it. I really appreciated how she handled the situation and made my stay a little better. The other hotel staff including Jorge are also very nice and the housekeeper was very courteous and did an outstanding job every day.
The daily breakfast was simple but decent along with courteous and friendly service. You get coffee or tea, juice and eggs (any kind) with toast. Personally this was fine for me. However I did hear other guests complain about the lack of choice and repetitiveness after staying there for a week.
Still small enough to explore on foot, Playa del Carmen has a relaxed, yet cosmopolitan feel, with a variety of hotels, shops, and restaurants ranging from causal to upscale. European-style sunbathing is common on beaches. Playa is a popular jumping-off point for day trips to Xcaret, Xel-Ha, Tulum, and other peninsula attractions, and a passenger ferry makes frequent runs to Cozumel.
