Nice resort hotel

Posted 10-Apr-2014
Pros: The staff were very friendly and very accommodating. Hotel has a good ambience in general.
Cons: It would be nice to include a grocery store in the shuttle run for those people who did not have their own vehicles.
Location: Casino is nearby Premium outlet mall is nice and close.
Great place for a family vacation. The mini bar in the room was locked we had to ask for key and they charge a 22 percent gratuity if you choose to take anything from the mini bar. This definitely discourages you from taking anything from the mini bar. Would be nice if they offer more gluten free products on their menus. We paid for an upgraded room and when we arrived there were none available they said they would try for the next night and we never heard back from them for the duration of our stay.

beautiful property but needs housekeeping

Posted 10-Apr-2014
Pros: it's location and the design
Cons: housekeeping and front desk level of customer service
Location: beautiful desert location and casino is right by.
our room requests were not honored. rooms weren't ready until 4:00. housekeeping forgot to clean our room one day I called the desk at 5;00 and they sent somebody quickly but she did a terrible job. housekeeping was an on going problem. when I complained about not getting the room types we requested they did nothing to try to correct it. the property is beautiful .

Very Relaxing

Posted 8-Apr-2014
Very nice place to stay and will definitely go back. Loved the music in the lounge area Friday evening. Also enjoyed the music by the pool area on Saturday. The evening campfire was a nice time relaxing and meeting people from around the country. The morning brunches are very good, with a nice variety of food. Chef's that made Sunday morning omelets were very friendly and made great omelets. Unfortunately, the Sunday morning food line was confusing and chaotic - that could use a larger area and better flow for quests to pick out their brunch foods. Hotel in general was clean but could have been dusted better and I didn't appreciate the food platters and dirty dishes from room service sitting in the hallways.

Nice stay

Beautiful Hotel. Waited to long to ride the boat though my fault. Only stayed one night wish it could have been longer. Great food also and superior room service even thought i believe the hotel was booked solid.

Nice hotel but a little far removed.

Posted 4-Apr-2014
Pros: Comfortable rooms, bathrooms were a good size. Food was good.
Cons: HEAT THE POOLS. Greater variety of lunchh choices - soups and sandwiches.
Location: Little far removed - you need a car. Hiked camelback and south mountain areas.
The hotel was quite nice and the staff were excellent - from front door to restaurants to pool - everyone was welcoming and helpful. We were only there for a few days, and the goal was to enjoy the sunshine and not have a schedule. Even though it was quite warm during our stay - reaching 30 almost every day - the pools were FREEZING. With all the available solar power it seems ridiculous that the are not heated.

Convenient to Phoenix, but a world apart

Posted 4-Apr-2014
This resort has all the amenities of a big hotel while feeling very "one with nature". It has views of the mountains and a beautiful 1.25 mile trail along the river where we enjoyed the sights and sounds of nature. The room was clean and nicely decorated. I liked that we had the option of declining daily maid service. In return we received a $5 voucher to use at the resort. This makes so much sense to me.

Nice hotel. Great service. Beautiful scenery.

The pools were very cold. Only 1 was heated and it was still pretty cool. Everyone there was swimming in the 1 heated pool, the others were just sitting there unused. I think for being such a nice resort all their pools should be heated. There was some yucky looking stuff floating at the ends of the 1 used pool and the hot tubs. Perhaps they should clean the pool a bit more often. Also the wait staff at the poolside Bar And Grill Seemed overworked. Too many customers and not enough staff. Food was very pricey also. Its worth the Hassle to hike to your car and drive to town to get food. Otherwise, the place was great. Me and my kids had a fantastic time and will be coming Back.

Good Resort, Not where we planned to stay

Posted 2-Apr-2014
Pros: Pools, 1st floor bar, comfortable beds
My Father and I went visited Arizona to watch spring training baseball. We had originally booked a different hotel and had to find alternate accommodations when it turned out they were overbook. We booked through Expedia and they found this resort for us. The room was more or less a standard hotel room with 2 queen beds and a passable HDTV. The beds were quite comfortable. What makes this resort stand out is it's amenities outside the room. The pools are very nice and were great to lounge around. The western town nearby accessible by boat is a great kids activity (also they have a great steakhouse that is far cheaper than the hotel restaurants). The Spa and Golf Course looked like they were nice. We did not take advantage of all the amenities as that was not the reason for our stay. I can see this as a great destination resort for a couples trip. While it was very nice, it wasn't the ideal place for a father and son in town to watch baseball. One point of note: they charge 22 dollars a nice for overnight valet. The parking lot is only a short walk away and they do have a shuttle (golf cart) that can pick you up. Not worth the money to valet.

Restaraunt/pool waitstaff not so great

Posted 1-Apr-2014
If you plan on ordering food from the poolside waitstaff, plan on waiting over an hour. I found the waitstaff to be less than mediocre and the management was terrible too (not very customer friendly). The main restaurant, Ko' Sin was not staffed properly for Sunday breakfast and hostesses were losing their composure and also telling new guests that the wait was only 20 minutes while other guests have already been waiting for close to an hour. It was disappointing as everything else at the property was pretty decent. I ended up eating off property a lot because I refused to spend money on mediocre service.
