“Weekend Trip”

My wife and I both travel for work. We chose AZ for a quick weekend away to find warm sunny days during the Midwest winter. After reading reviews of many Scottsdale hotels/resorts we decided upon the InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa. Our experience was wonderful. The hotel room, grounds, service and food, all exceeded our expectations. The only draw back would be the size of the property. The walk to/from the room can be lengthly as you have to zig zag by pools and buildings (rooms are all in different buildings throughout the property). From our room to the parking deck (near the front entrance), it was a solid 10-15 minute walk. I would recommend this hotel to others. It is equal to or better than the other resorts in the area with a slightly less price tag.

“Unparalleled Pampering! Highly Recommended”

My husband and I were in Scottsdale for our 15th anniversary and were searching for a special experience to spend a few nights to celebrate. We decided to splurge on the Intercontinental and went with high expectations. The Intercontinental, and specifically their destination spa, Joya, far exceeded those expectations. The entire experience was exceptional --- the facilities are brand new; the grounds and view were beautiful; the service was impressive; and without a single exception, the staff was enthusiastic, friendly and helpful. We decided to have dinner on our anniversary at Prado Restaurant. It was another unforgettable experience. The food, service and atmosphere were among the best we've enjoyed in recent memory. The Montelucia was not cheap and we booked their Joya Spa Retreat package so our guestroom experience came with two 60-minute spa treatments each day. Although expensive, the Joya Spa experience accented how rare and special the Montelucia is because we left feeling fully satisfied and very glad that we were there. It seemed like the entire staff knew it was our anniversary, which I am still trying to figure out how. Our treatment provider in the Spa left the couple's massage room wishing us a bounty of joy during our anniversary weekend. I won't forget those words. This won't be the last anniversary we spend at the Montelucia.

“Definitely 5 Star”

Montelucia is close to perfect, if not perfect in all regards. The room, the bedding, the scenic setting in exclusive Paradise Valley, the staff, the spa and salon services....everything 5 Star. Your wish is their command...you will not be disappointed here.

“Very happy”

We went to this hotel in March for a winter vacation. The hotel was fantastic and we were very pleased. The spa is quite expensive, but as a hotel guest, you are allowed to use (free of charge) the spa facility shower, steam room, hot tub and balcony which has a small private outdoor pool. If you want a cheaper massage, there is a massage school in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area, as well as other local spas. The exercise room was extensive and we took advantage of the free yoga and spin classes. If you plan to climb Camelback, the terrain is pretty difficult in certain parts and requires pulling yourself up rails and climbing along the rockface, but does not require expert climbing skills by any means. The more difficult trailhead is within 1/2 mile of the hotel and you can walk, but the easier trail is a 2 mile drive away. The staff were great and were very helpful. All the pools are heated and open 24 hours a day. The only disadvantage was the $24 per day charge for internet, exercise facility, and parking.

“Magnificent”

This trip was for much needed rest and relaxation. Hotel staff is very accomodating. The M Bar and the Bartenders are excellent. Really enjoyed the Chef's Whim and Tapas and Tequillas. A perfect place for couples to vacation specifically at the Oasis Village. The Joya Spa is delightful. I will be going back in the winter.

“Heavenly Retreat”

We were greeted and choose to walk to our room . We loved the beautiful grounds and fountain outside our building. The room was spotless and we even had bed turn down service. The staff was friendly , the pools and spa delightful. The bed was sensuous.
