“Thanksgiving visit”

Great location, nice lobby, free coffee all morning in hotel lobby, friendly staff and front desk, friendly door men, updated rooms.

“Enjoyed our stay”

Stayed here for 4 nights as a getaway without our young kids. Loved the gardens and entire outside atmosphere at the hotel. Had a nice, modern room with a great balcony overlooking the garden and felt we were in the tropics.We really liked how the lobby and grounds were to designed to sit back and relax. Staff was very friendly and welcoming upon our arrival. Did have some inconsistencies-only average housekeeping for our room, heater not working , toilet running water very loudly during one night. Oddly, we were not given a coffeemaker in our room nor did we receive a morning paper at our door. The breakfast at the hotel was barely average-had much better elsewhere. The location of the hotel was great-easy to get to Old Town, lots of restaurants, bars, etc. Hotel had a free shuttle to nearby places which was a nice extra even though we did not use it. Overall, would recommend the hotel for a very enjoyable getaway.

Area recommendations

Would highly recommend staying in the vicinity of Old Town Scottsdale. Lots of fantastic restaurants and various options for dining. Great streets for walking, browsing the art galleries even if they are closed, relaxing on a patio with a tasty drink, etc. Easy to get to other areas from here. Found it a good area more for couples rather than families.

Had a fantastic hot air balloon ride with Hot Air Expeditions. Great staff-very friendly, professional, courteous. We were very lucky to have our time in the air last 1 1/2 hours. The morning ended with an amazing gourmet breakfast in the desert. Loved every minute!!

“Disappointing”

I arrived well after midnight from a long day of travel. Being alone, with heavy luggage, I just wanted to get to bed. I went looking for my room, on the second floor. I dragged everything down one hall looking for the elevator, and down another befor I finally dragged everything up a 60's cement outdoor, stairs. When I got to my room I called down and asked how to turn off the very bright porch light, and was told by front desk person, no can do, and pull my curtains. Then I asked where the dang elevator was, and was told its an old property, they didn't have one. COME ON NOW!!! This is a supposedly 4star hotel. And then I asked him why he did not even tell me this when I checked in or offer someone to help me with my luggage? Dead silence. The bar closes early, along with the restaurant. Mini bar limited and a candy bar was $6.00. !!!! Parking very limited. I would have thought that a Kimpton property would have been much nicer and more on the ball with customer service, and at least have put a sitting chair in the rooms, but they don't.

“Relaxing Getaway”

We were impressed from the moment we arrived. The hotel was well kept and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They upgraded our room to poolside at no additional cost. This is in an excellent location; you can walk to restaurants, Old Town Scottsdale, shopping, or just sightseeing. The price of the hotel food and beverage was a bit high, but that can be expected at any resort. We would have liked a little more sun around and on the pool, but the trees were gorgeous. Would definately recommend this hotel and would go back again.

Area recommendations

Scorpion Bay at Lake Pleasant. Boat rentals were reasonable and food at Dillons was excellent. Fun day on the Lake.

“Wonderful pools and gardens”

Accommodating staff, lovely setting, quiet. Attention to details in the room (torn bedskirt, bathroom cleaning inadequate) would make this a perfect getaway.

Area recommendations

If you enjoy exotic food, visit the Persian Room restaurant in Scottsdale. Excellent service, delicious hummus, freshly made pita bread and wonderful entrees. For culture and a historic perspective of Phoenix area, the Heard Museum is a must!

“Don't bother looking anywhere else”

FireSky was a beautiful, comfortable and extremely clean hotel. The staff was unbelieveably helpful and accomodating. The food at the hotel was great. I would recommend FireSky and should I ever go back to the Phoenix area I would definitely stay there without a doubt!!!

“Great boutique resort.”

Restaurant staff was exceptional. Great pools. And free "smores" every evening by the fire pits. We're going to take our out-of -town guests there for a few nights this fall.
