“Lovely hotel in Phnom Penh”
Hotel room and service was excellent. The breakfast buffet was very good and had many Asian, American and Continental choices.
“Comfortable, friendly hotel”
We were there in late February. The Almond Hotel is mainly business focused but is as good for leisure travellers. It is a short tuk-tuk ride from the main holiday sights and sites ($2 max, although the drivers always seem to start at $3!). The room was a good size, spotlessly clean and well serviced each day. Breakfast most days was a buffet with a mix of oriental and western foods. We did not eat in the restaurant as it seemed pricey and there are many good places to go within a five minute tuk-tuk ride or ten minute walk (quite do-able in the evening when the temperature drops below 30C).
“Good location but a bit expensive”
Nice hotel, very clean, excellent breakfast, good location. Overall a good experience but I found it to be a bit expensive for Cambodia, and therefore not the best value. There are similar hotels at somewhat better rates. I also was stuck with a 3rd floor room in the back (no elevator), for which I was charged the same rate. Water pressure was also very low up there, making showers slow and frustrating.
“Nothing special...”
The room had no window and as there was building works going on all day long impossible to rest in the room during the day. I felt like I was allocated the worst room in the whole hotel which is not a nice feeling when you are travelling as a solo female. The food was very expensive.
