“A great place to stay in Old City”

I live in Philadelphia and spent one night at the Morris House with my partner for her birthday. The staff was friendly and the room was excellent all around.

“Found our new "usual" Philadelphia hotel”

Beautiful historic building, friendly and helpful staff and great location. One of the nicest hotels we've stayed in. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Philly.

“#1 Reason to go back to Philly!”

From the instant of our arrival, The Morris House Hotel was everything we could have hoped for with our short stay in Philly. Five star comfort & quality of furnishings both in room and common areas. We were greeeted and checked in with exceptional promptness & thoroughness regarding the Hotel and local area. Continental breakfast was top notch as was afternoon tea! Conveniently located in the heart of Philly and within walking distance of all major tourist attractions. The M restaurant right next door was the perfect spot for afternoon Bloody Mary's which we took to the courtyard/patio that connected both buildings. The bartender suggested a Wine and Cheese bar, Tria, several blocks away which we also patroned and could not have kicked off a Red Sox vs Phillies game any better if we tried! Felt very secure with the "after 9pm" guest key. Room was very quiet, elegantly appointed and complimentary dark chocolate squares and small water bottles hit the spot after a day of walking about the City. Would not change a thing! Cannot wait to make the Morris House Hotel a permanent stop off when planning future trips.

“A most excellent boutique hotel!”

I went to the Morris House expecting to be treated like a prince. Rather, I was treated like a king! My bed was comfortable and the room tasteful and well appointed. For about the same price I could have stayed at a cookie-cutter hotel in downtown Philadelphia. But I am quite glad to say I had BEDROOM, not a hotel room, to stay in. The staff was courteous and gracious, and very helpful. I highly recommend this beautiful, venerable hotel.

“Worth Going to Philadelphia”

Our stay was wonderful. The room was beautiful, the service superb, and it's in a great location. In addition, there is a restaurant on the premises that has great food. This is definitely the place to stay in Philadelphia.

“Morris Hotel - historic hotel w/ modern amenities”

The Morris Hotel is a wonderful place to stay - lots of historic charm, great restaurant on site, exceptional staff service, large/well maintained rooms, and a fantastic morning breakfast - right in the heart of historic Philadelphia within walking distance of Reading Market and the Convention Center. Would definitely stay again.

“Nice small hotel near historic district downtown”

This is a nice, small hotel (or large B&B) in an historic building right downtown. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was comfortable and clean. It is an old building though so the doors creak and the walls are thin. My only complaint is the breakfast in the morning was a little too simple. Raisin Bran, some pastries and toast that were not so special, some coffee and juice. That said, it is a nice place a very welcome break in the typical, large business hotel in downtown. Give it a try. It is also reasonably priced vs. its competitors.
