“good hotel and free parking”
this hotel is great for the money. It is on the outskirts of the historic part of Phila, but close to museums. It is not difficult to walk to the historic part of Phila, but takes about 30-40 minutes. There are buses and taxis.
“Great location, basic, clean hotel”
The location of the Best Western is fantastic. As with the other folks, we found it to be an older, fairly basic hotel. But it was clean, quiet for the most part and well maintained. The staff was really nice and helpful but give the breakfast buffet a miss.
“Hotel best western center city : proche de nombreux musée”
Le seul point négatif est le bavardage assez bruyant des femmes de ménages.
“Best Western Center City Philadelphia”
We stay at this hotel every June for the annual Philadelphia Freedom Skate Event. The hotel is very old and not fancy at all, but its fairly clean (no bugs--I checked everywhere). We asked for a crib to be brought up and one was immediately sent. Our sink was leaking so we called and someone was sent immediately and they fixed it properly. Plenty of parking and the lot has an iron fence around it. I also noticed the presence of a security guard or hotel personnel in the lot most of the time, even later in the evening. This hotel has a large outdoor pool for guests and members. Kids love the pool and there's plenty of lounge chairs, but only a few umbrellas. As far as location, this hotel can't be beat. It is on the edge of the Fairmount neighborhood (one of the best neighborhoods in the city) and is within a short walk of the Art Museum, the Rodin, many great restaurants, a Whole Foods supermarket, a Starbucks, a WaWa convenience store (right across the street), Kelly Drive/Boathouse Row, and many other conveniences like ATMs and local businesses. You can also catch the Philly Phlash bus to take you around the city or to the zoo. You's be hard pressed to find a better location if one of your destinations is the Art Museum. This hotel is old, but the staff tries very hard to make the guests comfortable. If you don't mind being in a bit of a run down hotel, you can get a lot for your money here and really enjoy one of the best neighborhoods in Philly.
“Solid, inexpensive hotel”
Good hotel, no complaints.
“Worth a stay”
Clean. Inexpensive. Pet-friendly. Conveniently located. I would strongly recommend this hotel for travelers with pets; unlike many of the other hotels in Boston, the Best Western has no restiction on breed or weight and only charges $15/pet/night. No deposit or cleaning fee. Although the hotel interior is old and worn, the rooms themselves look to have been recently rennovated. Our room was extremely clean. Most of the staff was very pleasant and the housekeeping staff were especially friendly. The check-in/check-out process was quick and painless. The hotel is a short walk from the Philadelphia Museum of Art and Eastern State Penitentiary as well as a short drive from the Philadelphia Zoo. It is also a short cab ride to Old City (Liberty Bell, Visitor Center, Independence Hall...) and there are always cabs waiting right outside the hotel. Parking is free to guests which is also unique among hotels in Philadelphia! The free wi-fi was also well appreciated. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, inexpensive hotel with plans to spend more time outside the room than in. I would definitely stay at this hotel on future Philly visits!
“recommended”
Great location near the museum and restaurants. Clean and comfortable if not fancy. The staff was very pleasant. the best part is the free parking.
“Pleasant stay!”
The staff were pleasant and very helpful with any questions. The room was neat and clean. The food we ate was good.
“Good stay”
Great location for the art museum and other walking activities. Breakfast was somewhat expensive for the amount of food available and using paper plates. A staff were extremely friendly.
“Great location!”
We stayed at the hotel for Philadelphia marathon. The hotel is in perfect spot, 5 minutes walking from the start and finish. We could actually watch it from the window. The hotel seems old. When we got to the elevator I actually got scared. The hallways were scary too but the room was fine. Bed was small - double size (we are spoiled by king size at home), but comfortable. Everything was clean! And the people were nice and friendly as well. Nice thing was that the checkout time is only at noon so we had enough time after the race to relax, shower and pack. My husband left his jacket in the room. The housekeeping kept it for him until he came to pick it up. I was impressed, I wouldn't expect we will get it back. And free parking was great too!!! I hope to stay there next year again.
