“We enjoyed Melville Beach Hotel, Mauritius”
We were nicely surprised on arrival and just after we settled down at our room, etc. The warm reception from all staff was excellent, notably from Mr. Laval, always friendly This is not the pretentious, stereotyped and large resort-type hotel facility. It has a feeling of a time passé yet that is precisely what makes it interesting and appealing, relaxing and inviting. The hotel has a lovely, small, almost private beachfront in the form of a bay and there is a “boat house” where dedicate staff can organize all sorts of touring activities, water sports, sailing etc. We stayed in a superior room, reasonably large, quiet and efficient air conditioning. From the various accommodation options we had looked for, the Melville Beach Hotel offered the most/best value for money. We recommend!

My mom and me had an amazing time in this hotel. The food, the service, everything was great! Very well located. The only think to say.... they should have more brochures, info about what to do around :)

hotel asse bien place pour faire des courses grand baie à 1,5km. les prestations de l'hotel sont asse bonnes , la literie de notre chambre standard etait tres bonne le menage etait satisfaisant . le restaurant était cher en particulier les bouteilles d'eau, et la qualité et la quantité n'etait pas au rendez vous. la plage tres agreable et les transats confortables à part le restaurant l'hotel laisse un agréable souvenir.

Hotel pretty much as expected. Clean, a little dated - Leaks in the corridors from rain. Rooms decorated to a fair standard. Usual mini bar extortion. Hotel located on a nice quiet beach around 800 metres wide. A little too far from the hub of Grand Baie to be walked on a casual basis - maybe a mile and a quarter plus away. Breakfast a good choice available, although the pre cooked hot breakfast was cold (as it always is in 90% of the worlds hotels). Dinner was Ok. The a la carte was just mediocre food, no Gordon Ramsey here. It was edible, no issues, but I wish hotels would not try to dress mediocre food on a menu as the most amazing in the world. My only gripe was that the beer in the hotel bars/restaurant was unreasonable expensive - around 180rupee for a small beer. As a lot of people there seemed to be on a meal 'package' this the obvious way of clawing some money back. Would I stay again - yes. Would I wish to get paraletically drunk in the hotel bar and wish to pay the resulting bill - no.
